We just got back today, from our stay in Jose's lovely apartment. (We went to Amsterdam and France before Barcelona.) All the comments below are right on the mark! Very modern -- looks like it has been updated recently. As it gets very hot and humid in september, we were happy for the very effective air conditioning at night. (And when we came back for brief rests during the day, we turned on the air to cool down.) The metro line near the apartment was closed for maintenance during our stay, but it didn't really matter since you can walk to most things anyway, or then take a metro from another location. Very safe location! It was nice that there was salt, sugar, and some other condiments in the pantry. We didn't use much, but we did a little. I noticed someone left some rice in the pantry, and we left some dry pasta that we didn't use as well. It's nice to have some basic staples in the kitchen. Potholders would be helpful, but otherwise the kitchen seemed well stocked with dishes, etc. Nice dark blinds in the bedrooms, and really comfy beds. Jose is very very trustworthy!! He will respond to you right away if you email him. He even called a cab driver for us to go to the airport in the morning. He made us feel at ease with the whole rental. Do not hesitate to rent this apartment! Our favorite neighborhood in all of Barcelona (that we saw) was the El Born District, which is only about a 13 minute walk away!
