More than Satisfied!!!

5 of 5
Highschool chums stayed for 4 days and 3 nights in this beautiful mountain rental just 1 mile from Deadwood. The amenities were perfect for the 6 of us. The lodge was spotless, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms adequate, and the kitchen was wonderful. We were happy that it was close to Deadwood and spent a lot of time there. There were a couple of small things that could have been fixed, which we mentioned to the owner and were repaired after we left. I would highly recommend this lodge with its wildlife and beauty to anyone.

A First Class Experience

5 of 5
This was our second vacation to Mountaincrest, and we were incredibly impressed again. As commented on by another traveller, it is hard to believe that you could possibly have all of this spacious property, with its incredible beauty and breathtaking views, and peaceful surroundings, all to yourself. The cabin is a beauty in itself;a handhewn log cabin, with a wraparound deck, and a great BBQ for your use. Very clean, and incredibly well organized, including all of those thoughtful items that many families seem to forget to bring along. The shed outside, amazed me,and has a wealth of items you may need, from tools to bikes, to winter sleds, to an air compressor for tires. You can tell that a great deal of consideration on behalf of the owners and caretakers, have gone into making your vacation a positive experience. Enjoy the fabulous firepit; beautifully cut into the hillside, and lined with rock. Its so quiet, you can listen to your own heartbeat! Don't miss the early morning sunrises, and watch the deer and wild turkeys frolic in the meadow below the balcony. A photographers paradise, and a dream come true for stargazers. Hundreds of constellations can easily be seen in the clear night sky. My wife and I spent a little time each night, and each morning on the balcony enjoying what every vacation needs, quiet time together. MountainCrest lacks for nothing. Don't be overly concerned about the road up to the cabin, you'll be fine in the summer with almost any vehicle; in the winter, a 4X4 would be recommended. Tom, the cabins owner, and his caretakers, Bob & Lyn, and Chris & Sharon, are outstanding to deal with. Tom is most forthcoming with any concerns he has regarding the cabin, roads, or well system, and the caretaker's effort to ensure your vacation is admirable. Dealing with Tom and his caretakers will leave you feeling like you've been friends for many years. We have been renting cabins in various areas of Canada and the US, for almost 30 years now, and we can assure you, MountainCrest is a first class experience, and the only thing you will not leaving.

Awesome cabin, great location!!

5 of 5
The property is as described in the listing. A beautiful, clean, & comfortable cabin for 3 couples to come home to at the end of the day. It is in a great central location for riding ATVs in the Black Hills. We enjoyed eating at the Sugar Shack, Cousins Big Chair Pub & Pizza, Custer's Crossing Campground Café, Moonshine Gulch Saloon, The Depot Deli, and the Alpine Inn. The owner, Mike, provided good customer service. I highly recommend this property to anyone.
