Excellent Location for your Black Hills trip

5 of 5
The property was as described, very good location for taking in all the sights in the Hills. It is located in the middle of everything, just off a main road, but still in the country. It was well decorated for a vacation cabin, and the kitchen was very well supplied with everything you need to fix and serve meals. The bathrooms were big and had plenty of good linens, the beds were very comfortable. Mike was easy to work with and we had a great time at his wonderful cabin. Will try to visit there again! Fabulous tranquil getaway

5 of 5
Picture perfect setting, which made for an extremely relaxing weekend. A back to nature vacation, with all the luxuries of home. We did not leave once we arrived, until our stay was over and leaving wasn't easy. Even though I could finally sleep in, I wanted to get up to see the sunrise. The sunrise and sets were incredible. Jim, the owner, takes all the necessary steps to insure you feel comfortable/welcome in his home. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves nature, and wants to get away from it all. Prior to arriving we took in the sights, Badlands,Custer State Park, Needle Hwy, Mt. Rushmore, and Chapel in the Hills, all worth seeing. We stopped in Wall drug also, that was not for us. By all means a bucket list trip!

Beautiful Cabin in an isolated, gorgeous setting

4 of 5
Our trip got off to a rocky start when we arrived at the cabin to discover it had been overbooked and other guests were already there. The owners made arrangements and paid for us to stay in a nearby hotel and refunded the dollar amount for the day we were unable to stay at the cabin. Once we checked into the cabin, we found it to be spacious, beautiful and located in a gorgeous setting. The road is a bit treacherous and if you have a 4x4 I would recommend bringing it. Even though the cabin is stocked with necessities, there aren't many adequate pots and pans, and the games are missing pieces. There is no wi-fi and for some reason I thought there was, and it would have been a nice addition to our stay. But there is satellite TV (although we didn't watch it much), and we enjoyed playing pool and sitting in the hot tub in the evenings. Deer, chipmunks, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife were seen regularly by the cabin. All-in-all an enjoyable stay and we would most likely return. Deadwood is great if you like to gamble (we don't) but other than that there is not much to do in the area. We drove to Rapid City and visited Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Reptile Gardens and loved each one. Spearfish Canyon is well worth the drive for enjoying the scenery.
