Great View!

4 of 5
Just returned from a week in this unit. We have been vacationing in Windy Hill for 25 years and have been staying in Windy Hill Dunes for the last 15 years or so. This is and end unit on the 13th floor looking south - which gives it a great exposure for sunsets. All units in Windy Hill Dunes are oceanfront and the property is very well taken care of. We were most impressed with this unit's management company - "Beach Vacations" The sheets and towels were a nice quality and all beds were made-up. A nice "starter kit" of toilet paper, soap, dish soap was also provided - a very nice touch. I was in contact with Chauncey Smith at Beach Vacations and was very impressed with the customer service that I received. As far as the actual unit goes - we will probably not return to this particular unit again until it is renovated. The bedroom furniture was all adequate - but, the living room was quite lacking. For example - there was no coffee table, necessitating us using our cooler as a table! The living room tv was small and there was a "strange" shag carpet patch right as you entered the living area. We have stayed in many other units that were quite a bit nicer. Also, as a heads up: the other room with a window that you can open and hear the ocean has the queen bed - the king bed is in an interior bedroom that is very dark. Restaurant suggestions: Can't beat Hamburger Joes - close and always good. Rockefellers for Happy Hour oysters and buffalo shrimp and Midtown Bistro for their nightly specials!

Loved the beach in September

5 of 5
My son arrived first at the condo and called me while on the road. His first impression was "Dad this place is big and beautiful" and it is. Truth be known there was only 5 of us but that is the way I keep the 20 something kids happy with their own bedroom and bathroom. Little did I know they could have their own living room and TV each. The codo was very nice and you could tell lots of time and effort went into the selection of all the componets. All items you will need are there including its own wine and shot glass selection with a small ice maker just for the glasses. Every kitchen item known to man was in one of the drawers or cabinets so no need to bring any. The view from the balcony is great as you can see the two closest piers to the north and south. There are lots of resturants and walmart and bi-low are right down the road. The storage closet has lots of beach toys and some chairs although we brought out own. Try out the green egg to cook pork it worked great for us. For the "guys" the parking garage with a covered walkway is great to stay out of the weather as you can unload next to the elevator on the first floor with four 20 minute unload zones which was very nice. Don't tell the wives but you can walk to Hamburger Joes for burgers and beers and you can walk home in 10 minutes. Loved it. Overall loved the visit and will return.
