We just finished a week at this beautiful Ilse of Palm residence and enjoyed every minute. We had 7 adults and 2 kids and the house has more than enough space for everyone. Having two big living areas and multiple porches really opens up the space to accomodate a large group and makes for nice evenings sitting outside together. The house is located on a cul de sac right by the pool (which is beautiful and convenient) and about a half block from the beach access road. We spent most mornings walking on the beach and truly loved the location.
It has all of the conveniences of home - laundry facilities, extra towels, sheets, pillows, kitchen with an array of appliances and cooking utensils, a grill, bikes (which are great for riding all throughout wild dunes), beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, etc.
We had such a great time and really enjoyed everthing this property had to offer. We were even able to bring my 87 year old grandmother because of the convenience of the elevator.
Lisa made the rental process extremely easy and we especially loved the neighborhood of this property and being within the Wild Dunes complex.
A few pointers:
- The beach by the house is gorgeous, but for my young children who love riding the waves, we drove to the public Ilse of Palm beach a few miles down (there are better waves!)
- Given all there is to do in Charleston, Sullivan's Island, etc, I would recommend renting a car
- This is a great house for people who want to cook and hang out together - we cooked and ate at the house multiple times and were really happy with all of the amenities (coffee machine, big fridge, pots/pans, etc)
- Book reservations and golf well in advance of the trip. There are some great places in Charleston and surrounding areas but you need to get a headstart on booking for large parties.
Thanks again Lisa. We will definitely be back!
