We had a nice long term stay here at Eddings Point. Despite some chilly nights and days we kept warm by the fireplace in the living room, reading from the well stocked library or doing jigsaw puzzles on the wonderful round table. The kitchen was well equipped and easy for two people to work in. The dead end road was safe and great for walking our dogs as well as the yard for playing ball or Frisbee with them. Fishing off the dock was fun even though we didn't catch anything. But we did enjoy almost daily dolphin sightings and watching the many shorebirds. Even the neighboring farm's peacock and tame deer paid us a visit. That farm made for very entertaining walks where we saw goats, sheep, ponies, a camel, donkeys, pigs, emus, llamas, horses and more!
There is plenty to do and places to eat in Beaufort and Ladys Island-only 10-15 minutes away. The wonderful new library on St Helena Island has internet and the Penn Center nearby are worth the visit. Hunting Island State Park is the best with beautiful, easy to walk on beaches, a great lighthouse to climb and fantastic walking or biking trials. Be sure and visit the nature center there too. So nice to have the free pass available for our use. All in all we would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a short or long term stay in the lowcountry. Rob and Claire were always helpful and available. We thank them for sharing their home with us and our dogs.
