Excellent fundamentals; needs some finishing touches

4 of 5
About the landlord: I appreciate that Sarah consistently responds to messages quickly; the initial inquiry, rental transaction and payment phases were all done very efficiently and thus saved me time. Another example: when we arrived, the Wi-fi router was not operational, and it took just one text message and no follow-up to get it fixed. About the location: We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights in late April. I believe the condo should get some stars just for its location. The building sits on a quiet street with mature trees. There are plentiful possibilities for walking in the shade. The usual assortment of grocery stores, restaurants and other shopping conveniences typical for a nice suburb is within 5-10 min walk. Also within 5 min walking distance is a very nice park with great views. The condo is about 1 hour and 30 min walk (or a 10 min drive) across a beautiful bridge from the historic waterfront part of Charleston. About the condo itself: The two bedrooms are at the opposite ends of this first-floor unit, living room in the center, kitchen area and dining nook against the back wall. There is a screened patio that is in the shade most of the day and a natural wood fireplace also. Importantly, there are light fixtures where you need them, and they are all working. Furnishings and decorations are sparse, but other fundamentals are excellent. Specifically, mattresses are good quality, there is a choice of very decent pillows; blankets, throws, linens, towels and cloths are all plentiful. Appliances are what you would expect in a typical rental unit; we found all of them in working order. Kitchen is fairly well-stocked compared to other rentals: there was no problem whatsoever in cooking and serving meals for 3 using just the cookware that could be found in the kitchen. Bathrooms and closets, however, are kind of bare, and we would have liked more places where one could conveniently hang things or, say, put a piece of soap while showering. For example, hangers provided were too flimsy for pants or jackets, and at least one towel bar was missing outright. On the other hand, the medicine cabinet did have some basic first-aid stuff. Overall, this condo has a lot going for it, but it lacks some finishing touches that distinguish an excellent rental from a pretty good one. After all, who thinks to pack a toilet brush when they go on vacation?

Super clean and a true gem of a condo!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful two winter months at the condo. Everything is very quiet as the walls are very well insulated. The view of the sunset over the marsh every night was just breathtaking. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need and more. Blender, toaster, two coffee pots, and plenty of dishes. The beds are comfortable enough, although they are a bit soft, so they may bother some. We both slept beautifully though, as we're not too fussy. The apartment is laid out very well, with the master bedroom and bath at one end and the other two bedrooms and baths at the other. We had some guests and never did either one of us hear the other one. The location is great. You can easily walk to the beach or to Lost Dog Cafe in just a few minutes. All in all, really nothing negative about this unit. We would have considered staying here again next year if it wasn't already taken! Also, Tanya was very helpful and stayed in touch throughout our visit and promptly responded to texts. Five stars for this stay!!

Great condo, close to airport and city

5 of 5
Great top floor condo. Beds extremely comfortable, huge television, kitchen well equipped for cooking meals, nice appliances. Location ideal for access to airport, decent restaurants, and about a 15 min ride to the city. Owner very accommodating and quick to reply to any inquiries. Nice screened-in deck with table for outside meals, overlooking pretty surroundings.
