Lovely Cottage, Stunning view a week is not enough

5 of 5
We started our journey at Uitsig Cottage what a great Place to be. We just have to repeat what the other visitors wrote as a review. Stunning view day and night, lovely hosts and we love Jessie and Solo. It is a great place to stay outside of the busy Cape Town, but only 40 minutes away, you can see the train from the Deck and travel into Cape town. Visit Fish Hoek, Simonstown, Boulders beach and Cape point we still did not see everything. Started our journey to the rest of the country from there, also organised by these two Helmo and Yvonne. we had a great great month and saw a lot never to forget. Thanks for your hospitality. Walter and Matty

Awe-inspiring

My girlfriend and I were afforded the opportunity to stay at Enigma Mansion in December 2012. Having lived in Cape Town for more than ten years, before relocating overseas, we thought that we knew of all the hidden gems that the mother city had to offer. Our stay at Enigma Mansion proved us very wrong. A stay at Enigma Mansion can best be described as being immersed in pure luxury. Well-travelled individuals would expect the attention to detail that surrounds you at Enigma from five-star hotels around the world. On the day of arrival we received a pre-arrival phone call from Enigma’s General Manager Louis Brink to enquire about our arrival time. Upon arrival at the mansion, his entire team was waiting on the front drive, ready to welcome us. Luggage was swiftly brought up to our room, the car was parked and Louis proceeded to give us an orientation of this stunning property which stretches over more than 7000 square meters and is situated in the heart of affluent Camps Bay. Tech savvy guests will feel right at home. There is an iPad located in each room to control different aspects of the mansion; music, movies, lights and blinds to name a few. The pool is amazing and we spent the majority of time alongside/in it, listening to music being played from the impressive outdoor sound system (controlled by an iPad of course). In the evening plates of fresh fruit, vegetables and cold cuts were prepared for us, which we enjoyed on the terrace along with chilled champagne, watching the sun go down. The following morning Louis and his staff were waiting for us with a sumptuous breakfast which was served on the terrace underneath beautifully designed sun umbrellas. After an amazing breakfast, Louis gave us a tour of the grounds, showing us The Enigma Mansion Studio and Guest House and Staff Quarters. Living on property ensures that Louis is able to attend to the guests’ need at a moment’s notice. There is a Massage and Meditation Temple. We simply used the Meditation Temple as yet another location to unwind, enjoy the views and trying to take in everything this property had offer. It of course did not take long for us to be served water and snacks without having asked for it. It will take many days to fully appreciate the detail that went into the creation of Enigma. The ancient Indian double doors that lead into the anteroom or specially commissioned artwork that can be found across the property. A big thank you to Louis and his team!

Fantastic, central gem in Cape Town

( I want to give this place 5 stars but the website won't allow it!?) Stayed here for two weeks in January 2014, with partner although I think this is a great place for a small family as well. The location if superb e.g. with restaurants just around the corner, the city center and V&A Waterfront within walking distance. There is also a supermarket approximately 5 minutes walk away (Cape Quarter Shopping Mall) if you want to cook at the premises. The layout and design of the property is brand new and done up to a very high standard. The views are glorious. Outside is a lovely jacuzzi so we spent s few evenings in this with some bubbly watching the sunset. The property is well maintained e.g. fresh towels & cleaning service daily. The property is situated in a very quiet street yet is still so close to the hustle and bustle of the city. For what you get, the price is a steal, we will definitely stay here again - it was lovely thank you. Jennifer, London
