Just Perfect!

5 of 5
We have just finished a month long stay at Uitsig Cottage and it could not have been more perfect for us.. First of all, Yvonne and Helmo are perfect hosts. Always there when or if you need them, but never intrusive. They have a wealth of knowledge about South Africa and are a pleasure spend time with. The cottage is, well, perfect. It is a comfortable size for a long stay and the outdoor space is more than generous. Did I say that it also has a perfect view and location? The harbor in Simons Town is very beautiful as well as active. As for location, we took the train into Cape Town which was convenient, but there are so many great restaurants, beaches, wineries and hikes close to the cottage that you would never have to leave the area. So, as I have said many times, it was perfect - so much so that we will definitely be back!

Lovely Cottage

5 of 5
Wondefully furnished Lime Cottage. Comfort and all the mod-cons. Heated pool a real plus. Warm welcome by Athol who was very helpful and friendly. Great location near to walks on Table Mountain & Kirstenbosch, the Constantia vineyards, easy access to Cape Town and the Waterfront and easy to get on the motorway bringing you to the Winelands. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I Was a Happy Local In Cape Town For Three Months

5 of 5
I lived in this beautiful townhouse for three months between April and July, 2013, and life was really good. This wonderful opportunity came about because the owner needed a petsitter during her two month vacation and invited me to stay in her rental townhome for the remaining length of my visa. We became close friends in the process and a tiny Teacup Yorkie will always be my dearest baby. This excellent, well-appointed home looks exactly like the photos and is very quiet and comfortable in an attractive Parklands neighborhood near to shopping malls and public transportation. It is completely secure with a privacy fence and a good alarm system. The patio is spacious and is an excellent spot for outdoor cooking and entertaining. My stay was during the winter but it was very similar, weatherwise, to my Florida home. Most days are clear and sunny, though you might see all the seasons in one day. Cape Town is truly a most beautiful place and much more than simply a city. It has many beaches and harbors; many mountains, including the ever-present icon, Table Mountain; many distinct, village-like neighbor-hoods, all with world-class cafes. There are so many things to do for sightseeing, but also, everything in the way of shopping, especially for finding good fashion on a budget. Americans, Aussies and Kiwis will feel as if everything is very inexpensive and affordable in South Africa, due to the favorable exchange rate. That's probably true of the UK, as well. I'm an around-the-world traveler, so I can attest that this country is easy on the pocketbook compared to most other Westernized countries. And yet, it is modern and safe with everything in good repair. South Africans are lovely people and everybody speaks English. How can you lose?
