What a wonderfully set up house with breathtaking views of False Bay. The open plan layout and high quality furnishings provide a calming environment to which my family and I will certainly be returning to next year!

Home away from home

4 of 5
My husband and I spent a week in Lime Cottage during the very chilly August of this year. We were very cozy with the fireplace burning which warmed the whole cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking up a storm on and in the enormous gas stove/oven and didn't want for any cooking equipment, crockery or cutlery - all these items are supplied and are stylish, practical and spotless. There is a washing machine and dryer in the kitchen too which both take large loads and are quietly efficient. The owner, Athol's style comes through in the comfortable and refined furnishings and also in the unique, beautiful art pieces dotted around the cottage. I had to drag myself out of the memory foam pillow top, king size, extra-length bed in the mornings - sheer luxury! The en-suite bathroom we used off the main bedroom is stylish and chic with a gigantic shower rose in the shower and enough room for about 4 people to comfortably shower at once :-) If I must say something negative, the shower being blocked on the first night (although quickly rectified by Athol's efficient, friendly and handsome handyman), put a damper on an otherwise faultless week in Lime Cottage.

I Was a Happy Local In Cape Town For Three Months

5 of 5
I lived in this beautiful townhouse for three months between April and July, 2013, and life was really good. This wonderful opportunity came about because the owner needed a petsitter during her two month vacation and invited me to stay in her rental townhome for the remaining length of my visa. We became close friends in the process and a tiny Teacup Yorkie will always be my dearest baby. This excellent, well-appointed home looks exactly like the photos and is very quiet and comfortable in an attractive Parklands neighborhood near to shopping malls and public transportation. It is completely secure with a privacy fence and a good alarm system. The patio is spacious and is an excellent spot for outdoor cooking and entertaining. My stay was during the winter but it was very similar, weatherwise, to my Florida home. Most days are clear and sunny, though you might see all the seasons in one day. Cape Town is truly a most beautiful place and much more than simply a city. It has many beaches and harbors; many mountains, including the ever-present icon, Table Mountain; many distinct, village-like neighbor-hoods, all with world-class cafes. There are so many things to do for sightseeing, but also, everything in the way of shopping, especially for finding good fashion on a budget. Americans, Aussies and Kiwis will feel as if everything is very inexpensive and affordable in South Africa, due to the favorable exchange rate. That's probably true of the UK, as well. I'm an around-the-world traveler, so I can attest that this country is easy on the pocketbook compared to most other Westernized countries. And yet, it is modern and safe with everything in good repair. South Africans are lovely people and everybody speaks English. How can you lose?
