My partner and I, along with three friends headed to Saba without really knowing what to expect. We spent the week prior to our arrival island hopping around the caribbean, saving Saba for our final destination. We should have headed straight to hummingbird villa for our entire two week trip! We arrived late on a Thursday evening as the earlier ferry’s had been cancelled. When we got to the house at 7:00 PM, we were in awe, even in the dark. The villa is beautiful. Leika was waiting for us at the door. Since we were coming in so late, she thought to get us some beer, wine, fruit, eggs, coffee, cheese.... all the things we would have wanted for our first night and breakfast the next morning. She also helped us get into a place for dinner that night. She does a amazing job making sure the guests have everything they need and want. The next morning we got to see the house and grounds in the daylight. As said below, the pictures do not do it justice. It is stunning. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed on a vacation. Having a pool is rare on Saba, and this house has a great one. The house is full of doors and windows to take advantage of that spectacular view. Open them up and let the air flow through, you will be instantly relaxed. The massive book collection was a wonderful surprise. Our guests read several. The walk into Windwardside is easy enough. Just long enough to get you ready for a wonderful meal or cold beverage. The town is quaint and beautiful. Be sure to hike up Mt. Scenery! My partner was in touch with Dan frequently during our stay with simple questions or seeking advice. Not only did Dan respond quickly, but with very entertaining responses and suggestions. The bottom line: If you want to be surrounded beauty inside and out, experience a vacation like nothing you’ve ever had before and be more relaxed than you ever thought possible... visit Saba and stay at the nicest house on the island. Hummingbird Villa.

Cute Cottage with Fantastic Hosts

5 of 5
We arrived in the dusk after a delightful (though apparently more rare) crossing on the Dawn II and immediately fell in love with the Flamboyant Cottage. The lights were on, the fridge was stocked, there was ice and glasses in the freezer and we set to making dinner to eat poolside and drinking the wine that our hosts so graciously gave us! Saba is laid back and it was lovely to unwind with some book reading, hiking and diving while we were there. I would definitely recommend checking out Saba and we couldn't be happier with Sherry and Larry as hosts. I had odd logistics questions, which they were very quick to answer, and to ask others for answers in order to help us out. They provided copious amounts of extremely useful information via email, as well. If all hosts were like them, no one would ever stay in a hotel! Thanks ever so much for sharing your cottage by the sea with us! I highly recommend staying here, if you have a chance.
