We stay here every summer with our 5 children and love it. There is just something really comfortable and charming about an old house. It has attention to detail that you don't see in modern houses, from the solid wood doors with little metal latches in every room to the narrow back staircase that you have to duck down to go up. My kids especially love that staircase!
Despite being an old house, everything inside is immaculate, with plenty of fresh towels and crisp clean sheets. The cable and wi-fi internet keep it current, not that you really want to spend a ton of time inside in front of a screen when Little Compton is so beautiful in the summer!
The house is bright and sunny inside, and has a cute covered flagstone patio off the mud room. I heard that Coll put in an outdoor shower in the off season, which we're excited to try out this summer. The big front yard has soft grass that is comfortable to sit and picnic on. The back yard has a picnic table and a grove of cedar trees that my kids like to climb and play in. We usually grill outside and have dinner at the picnic table.
The master bedroom is spacious, and my husband and I have never EVER slept on a more comfortable bed. We wish we could take it home with us! We can also fit 2 kid sized airbeds and a portable crib for the baby on the floor and still not feel cramped. Our kids sleep like rocks when we're visiting.
Between the farm and bakery, you have almost everything you need for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing is better than corn picked within the past hour, or fresh real tomatoes. Once you try the produce from the farm stand, you'll never eat another grocery store tomato!
If you're coming to Little Compton for a vacation, you know about the gorgeous beaches, the bike riding, and the general beauty of the area. Between Suzie and Coll, you'll get the friendliest part of the town too. And to top it off, you can bring your dog (which we do!)
