The perfect vacation place. More than we expected

5 of 5
This is the first time we have used Home Away and Regina has set a high standard! We were in town for our son’s wedding, and could not get a hotel room in Bristol. From the moment we got to Bristol, nearly late for the rehearsal, Regina was helpful. She got us into the apartment with no fuss and quickly got out of our way so we could get to the church. Our plan was for the groomsmen to get ready at the apartment, but his bride asked if the girls could get ready there. I gave Regina a heads up that the Bride wanted to take pictures in the back yard and she really out did herself. The trellis with grape vines was decorated for us! By time we got back to the apartment from the rehearsal dinner, we just wanted to fall into bed, and a very comfortable one it was. The fridge had all we needed for a good breakfast (juice, eggs), muffins on the table and lots of coffee. On Sunday morning, Regina showed up with champagne flutes (and more coffee) to go with the bottle of champagne she had left for the bridal party. She didn’t mind all the extra traffic that the bridal party entailed. Besides the bride, 4 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, mothers of the bride and groom, grandmother of the bride, there was the hair stylist, the photographer, and the limo driver. And yes, we all managed to get ready in the apartment. The sunroom had several buckets of toys for young children, and kept the flower girls busy. The apartment was very clean, so the bride had no concerns about her dress hitting the floor. The furniture was comfortable and new, with lots of seating space. But it was all the little things that Regina did that set this apart. There was a basket in the bathroom, with all the things you might possible forget. A basket in the kitchen with lots of quick snacks, and items in the fridge that eliminated rushing to the store. As one of the bridesmaids put it, “She did all this, knowing you were here for a wedding and would likely never come back!!!” I really like the thoughtfulness of the notebook full of things that Regina may have told us, but in our hurry may not have registered… like how to turn on the heat. We went from having the air conditioning on Friday to having the heat on Monday. We found Bristol a lovely town, close to Providence and Newport. So we plan to go back, just as we plan to rent Regina’s apartment again. And thanks to the folks at Judge Roy Bean Saloon who let us hang out after the wedding (without much drinking).

An absolute MUST

5 of 5
We decided on a long weekend in Newport and couldn't be happier with our decision to stay on the Ocean Romance. We were looking for something a little different and it greatly exceeded our expectations. Jean & Dave were excellent hosts and the breakfast Jean cooked every morning was unreal! You really can't beat waking up, sitting on the back of the boat with a nice cup of coffee, beautiful weather, watching the sun come up and the boats go out. Without a doubt will be back to visit!

Perfect place to stay near Newport, RI!

5 of 5
I love Newport, RI and have visited many times -- this place was by far my favorite place to stay yet. And I will most definitely book it in the future and recommend it to my friends and family. The home is clean, comfortable, and has ample room for the 5 people who visited (we didn't even use up all the beds). There's a super comfy sectional and a big screen TV perfect for watching a movie as a group. The kitchen in person was nicer than the photos led me to believe -- a great space for making breakfast or a group dinner since it could hold multiple people. There were enough bathrooms that everyone had enough space and shower time. The location couldn't be better. You're within walking distance of Atlantic beach and out of the noise of downtown Newport....but it's a 5-10 minute drive into town. There's a view of the water from the house and gorgeous outdoor space to hang out in -- a grill, a hammock, and a nice yard. Plus, this is the perfect place to bring a pet. Our dog was able to travel with us and enjoy the fenced in yard. Definitely a 5 star review and worth booking for your next trip to Newport!
