Ahhh..The screened in porch with a great view

4 of 5
The property was very nice and clean and the big screened in porch was fabulous, we spent most of time in it. The only drawbacks are: there is only one small bathroom (which we knew going in) and though they technically had cable, there was only one 26 inch TV that essentially only got the local affiliates of CBS, NBC and ABC. We would have liked to be able to watch the Red Sox or a few other stations at night. These are the only things that kept it from 5 stars - but I'd still go back.

Adorable beachfront home with amazing view!

5 of 5
What a wonderful and welcoming home! The listing description was dead on; the house was neat as a pin, well stocked (plenty of towels!) and perfectly situated in the middle of Aquidneck island. Newport is 15-20 minutes to the south, Providence is 30 minutes to the north. If you fly into Warwick, it is about a 40 minute drive. Our jaws dropped when we walked into the house and saw the view from the dining room, the Sakonnet River is outside the back door. We came to Rhode Island for a wedding at Glen Ellen Manor and extended our stay for a few days. We visited some of the mansions, walked around downtown, hiked the Cliff Trail and rambled around on some of the beautiful sideroads. We strongly recommend a visit to the American illustration Museum in Newport, it is a treat to see Maxfield Parrish, Wyeth, Rockwell and Pyle original art displayed in an amazing house. We shopped at the Clement Market, half a mile up the road; there is also a country market stocked with local fruits, vegetables, milk and cheese at the intersection of 138 and Fairview, the turn-off to the rental. This house is a worthy rental, we highly recommend it. We will miss the morning coffees on the beach and nighttime stargazing. We will miss watching gulls drop conch shells on the beach. We will miss the incredibly friendly neighbors who made us feel welcome. Thanks so much to the owners for providing a home that helped make our vacation a delight!

2nd time's a charm

5 of 5
We took in a second vacation at this lovely cottage! Once again our stay was a delight and the perfect home base for a family vacation. Our twin boys loved the bunk beds and our dog was in 7th heaven on the beach. After mornings with coffee and the little ones playing on the private rocky beach we could head to the Newport beaches and attractions or, on a rainy day, up to Providence to explore. We always made sure to be back to enjoy the fantastic sunsets over the bay from the cottage's deck with a glass of wine. The cottage was clean and comfy and I'm sure we'll be back again to enjoy it next year.
