Fresh, Clean & Cozy!

5 of 5
My DH and I haven't had a real vacation since our honeymoon 3 years ago. Bonnet Shores was a dream come true. To start with, the apartment was immaculate! The fully stocked kitchen including a double sink, dishwasher, and large fridge/freezer was a real plus, especially since we chose to save $$$ by eating in. There is a nice and cozy sitting area, tv, wifi...bed was super comfortable too...the bathroom was fully stocked with towels and toiletries as well. (There was a washer/dryer [that we didn't use] but for longer stays may be included in the deal.) Noise from the neighbors didn't bother us much since the sound machine covered it up. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the beach, and less than 2 minutes to the "pond" (read: huge lake). We enjoyed kayaking while watching sunset over the pond. Bonnet Shores is a upper-class, pristine beach town. We loved the fact that by 9pm the neighborhood went to sleep. It was a kind of back to nature experience; going to bed early and waking up at dawn rested and refreshed. So as not to disturb the neighbors (by driving around) we took a walk at night to the "marina" and even spotted a shooting star on the way! The best part of our stay was the day we took the ferry to Block Island. We biked around the Island - the views are totally awesome, Block Island is a fun touristy place to visit! We also explored the mansions in Newport, did the cliff walk and 10 mile drive. Barbara was so pleasant to deal with. Right from the first phone call, I immediately felt comfortable and knew that she would be the perfect hostess. During our stay she was always available to answer our questions and give suggestions for great places to check out. Now, this part is not recommended, but in our haste to leave, we forgot our garment bags in the closet. Barbara was really gracious about it, and had our stuff shipped back to us via UPS the very next day! Thanks so much for a great stay!

A beautiful escape

5 of 5
I'm almost afraid to say how amazing this rental is for fear that it will be booked up next year. All you need to bring is food clothing & some mode of transportation if you're staying a week. The rental price is extremely reasonable for the amount of amenities provided. Catherine & Dick were very gracious hosts. The property is pritine. The dock is great for kids as well as adults. The beach has millions of shells which is beautiful but I suggest water shoes to protect delicate feet. Prudence island & it's history is amazing. The ferry ride is easy & smooth. We will definitely return soon.

Great apartment in terrific location

5 of 5
Had just three days to spend at the beach and was so lucky to find a 3-day window of availability between rentals of this lovely apartment . The apartment could not have been more thoughtfully equipped, tastefully done or cleaner. Have rented many cottages in the past and none with as many thoughtful touches as this landlord provided. The description of the property and the amenities were exactly as described. The landlord told us that the only thing we had to bring were our own towels and she was absolutely right. There was air conditioning in each bedroom which was greatly appreciated as we had a HOT few days. Though the remainder of the apartment is not air conditioned, we were supplied with numerous fans and the evenings cool down nicely. Though the apartment sleeps 6, I think it might feel a little tight if the 6 are all adults as there is just one bathroom. There is a great deck that holds a picnic table and small table with two chairs. The backyard is very well kept and there is a fire pit (with wood supplied) surrounded by chairs for anyone who would like to use these. The apartment is on a quiet street yet within easy walking distance of Narragansett state beach restaurants. A major supermarket is only about a mile away. Would highly recommend this apartment and look forward to returning there.
