Relaxed, renewed and rejuvenated

5 of 5
My wife and I were looking for a unique and extended ocean getaway, and we definitely found it! The views, sunsets, gentle ocean breezes and private beach were so much more than we had anticipated. Although we had expected to do a lot of adventuring because the area has so much to offer, many times we found ourselves extremely content to stay out of the car and recreate at the cottage. The ocean views were difficult to stray from. We could take the kayaks right down to the beach and had our choice of traveling within the protected Harbor of Refuge or heading right out to the open ocean. The bluefish and striped bass run right out off the adjacent break wall which is about a three minute walk. With fully rigged surf casting rods, provided by the owner, I was delighted to catch my first bluefish! Upon arrival, we found this cute cottage very clean and comfortable. As I entered the porch I realized that there was nothing but ocean between us and Europe. This is the sort of accommodation where you can just pick up your keys and travel to without thinking about bringing much along except an overnight bag. Everything that we could possibly need during our stay was provided. After falling asleep on the porch while watching the boats many afternoons, we often opted to finish the day by bringing a chair to the beach for some sunbathing. Dining choices were plentiful and diverse. The Block Island Ferry is just down the street, we took a few late afternoon trips for island dining. We frequented many wonderful restaurants right in Point Judith. I have to say our favorite meals were at Spain, an upscale restaurant less than five minutes away, or going down to the docks and getting fresh seafood to be prepared back at the cottage. The owners understood our need to explore southern Rhode Island. When we arrived at the cottage they had prepared an extensive itinerary of destinations and events that we could enjoy during our stay and were happy to answer questions. We were advised on everything from; where to get the best bait and local haunts to fine dining and theater. Although we did not need much during our six week stay, the owners were very gracious and responsive to our requests. We vacation at oceanfront properties all over the world. This cottage is definitely on our "return to someday" list. Colleen and Mike, thanks so much for sharing your paradise with us. Superlatives; ocean views, quite, adventure, sunsets, breezes, heaven

peaceful cozy home on a beautiful lake

5 of 5
The owner was very helpful and friendly. We unfortunately had a lot of cool, wet weather during our stay so we spent more time inside than anticipated, but the cottage is very comfortable, with great views of the lake. The location is peaceful--no traffic noise, and only quiet boats (10hp limit) are allowed on the lake. It was fantastic to have the kayaks right there so we could get out on the water when the weather allowed. I would definitely recommend this rental and hope to return another time. The listing says a car is necessary, and it's true that nothing is within walking distance of the cottage, but we arrived by bicycle from the West Kingston Amtrak station, an easy 8-mile ride along the rail trail and mostly quiet roads. It's also a 20-minute bike ride to Narragansett Beach or into town to get food.

Fantastic property for everyone to enjoy!

5 of 5
My wife and I enjoyed a perfect vacation for a 70th birthday near family. The views were breathtaking and I never wanted to leave the deck. When my family was there with us, we all gathered at sunset to see the picturesque view. The waterfront property provided my grandchildren lots of space to cool off and play as well as keep our boat for our 2 week stay. I loved being able to walk into Galilee for exercise, beach time, or simply look around. We all found something we wanted to do one mile away. We even jumped on the ferry to BI on a last minute decision because it was so close. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
