For the past 2 years a friend and I have stayed at “Owl’s Cote” in June. The house and park setting are reminiscent of historic homes for rent by the National Trust in England.
Three words describe the interior of the house; comfortable, relaxing and elegant. The tasteful furnishings are a combination of modern and antique. The new kitchen has everything. Most evenings we could be found in the garden courtyard, sitting at a table having dinner with the sound of ocean surf in the distance. On the other side of the house is a bluestone patio overlooking a lawn, mature trees and flowering shrubs with the sounds of songbirds flooding the air. (property borders the Norman Bird Sanctuary)
I’m a surfer so the location was unmatched. It’s a short walk to “Second Beach”, an expansive sandy ocean beach with rolling waves and no commercial trappings or development.
If nature were not enough, it’s only a short drive (or bike ride) to Newport where there are many historic sites, good restaurants and a harbor filled with boats of every kind.
A perfect vacation spot with lots of things to do.
