Peaceful Waterfront Home

5 of 5
This home is even nicer than the online photos. The windows take advantage of beautiful pond views from all sides. The sandy beach is a close walk. Inside, the décor is light and airy, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating capacity. There is a first floor bedroom, perfect for elderly guests. In October we had occasion to use both the air conditioning and the heat -- both worked perfectly. There is a nice grassy yard leading to the pond. The home is in a quiet location that made for a peaceful retreat. The manager and owners are helpful and friendly. In addition to Matunuck Oyster Bar, we also enjoyed Arturo Joe's in Narragansett and George's in Galilee. Newport is an easy drive, as is lovely downtown Wickford. I would highly recommend this beach rental!

Wonderful vacation get-a-way!

4 of 5
Great family vacation house - comfortable walk to the beach with places to eat, get ice cream and groceries close by. House was in good shape and clean with a nice backyard and several decks. Great little neighborhood to take walks or ride bikes in. The owner was very informative and easy to work with. Every recommendation that she made was very good.

Best vacation in quite a long time

5 of 5
This is a beautiful property, and well worth the money to stay here. It is well appointed, beautiful view of the surf, sea and "the Block", long boarders and wind surfers. There were ten of us (8 adults and 2 little ones). We brought our own pack and play for one of the little ones. The kitchen has all the utensils, pots, pans, etc to plan for meals. Gas range was wonderful - stove took a bit to figure out, but once we did all was good. A couple of things we might recommend. More blankets and sheets - we could not utilize the pull out sofa, and there was not enough bedding, and it was chilly at night. The path to the beach can be very tricky, especially if you have an older crowd, and unfortunately, there was a lovely family of skunks that had moved into the bushes, and we were unable to go down the path to the beach at night for a fire. We would recommend water shoes, as this part of the beach is very rocky. Overall this house is very well maintained, and is definitely a five. Karen is great to deal with. Visit with Tara at the Irish pub - she is a great lady - and the folks at the general store are wonderful. I am born and raised in RI, and currently live in Florida, and this is was an outstanding family reunion with 45 of us renting houses in the area. We will be back.
