Better than you can imagine

5 of 5
Stayed for my daughter's wedding which was taking place just down the road at Sakonnet Vineyard. Such a perfect house for all our needs which included two five year olds and a day with hair and makeup for the bridal party! Everything one could ever possibly need during a stay was available...extemely well thought out kitchen supplies to games and even table tennis! Great outdoor space which includes lovely grounds and large, beautiful deck. The view is gorgeous! Wonderful local vegetable stand 5 minutes away serving delicious pastries and lunches. Beautiful beach side walks less than 5 minutes away. I would love a return visit and would certainly recommend to anyone!

Wonderful getaway for our young family

5 of 5
We rented this home for 4 consecutive summers and fell in love with it and Little Compton. The house is great, full of ocean breezes, beautiful views, a huge yard and great for grilling and doing nothing. The owners are wonderful, responsive and became good friends. Couldn't recommend it more highly!

Traditional Cottage Get-Away with Modern Amenities

5 of 5
We spent a lovely week at The Pond View cottage. If you want to relax and unwind here's the place. If you want to shop and be close to "touristy" attractions this isn't it. Stay in Newport. This is a modern cottage tastefully furnished (think Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware). Spacious, light and comfortable. Huge kitchen and Master bedroom. Large work desk and internet for those who can't leave the office The property sits down a gravel lane and gets no traffic. The houses each set on at least a couple of acres so there is ample privacy although you can see a couple of other homes from the yard. The outdoor areas are expansive---plenty of room for entertaining, playing and relaxing. Very nice outdoor dining area. The 2 bedrooms and kitchen have french doors to the porch---all with a view of the pond, ocean beyond, islands and faintly Martha's Vineyard in the distance. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise each morning---as the cottage faces East. Sunsets are nice too! Bed was comfy. Do visit the Little Compton Historical Society--- the tour and museum are well worth the $5. Do shop locally at the Wilbour General Store (they have just about everything from food to hardware to gift items. Do check out the Consignment shop. Do eat at A-1 Pizza----their brownies are especially good as is their pizza! If you plan on using the kayak or canoe bring old shoes or boots---the put in is swampy. Do bring beach towels! Pick up some wood at one of the local stands for the outdoor Bar-B-Que. (The indoor fireplace is not to be used). Lots of areas to explore locally. GO to the Beach go for a hike. We went to Newport one day and did the Cliff Walk. Great retreat for family fun, romantic get-away or nature lovers. Do request sheets and towels if you are flying in (like we were). Well maintained and recommended.
