                JEWELL OF JAMESTOWN

                5 of 5
Our family of 13 plus a caregiver for my elderly father spent a week together at this gorgeous Jamestown home. Both owners greeted us on Saturday and gave us a thorough overview of the home. They graciously accommodated us by allowing us to have a special lift recliner delivered first thing that morning and made us feel at home from the outset. The electric chair on the back staircase was essential for my mom and dad to get up to their bedroom each night. We have rented many houses over the years and one shortfall we often see is that there is never enough towels or linens for a group as big as ours. This was not the case at this home. There was also ample silverware and tons of serving dishes, pots, pans etc. It was perfectly equipped for our family who loves to cook. While the kids couldn't quite get enough of the pool by day, the adults gathered in the pub each night. If you are visiting this area, you need to try a local favorite lemonade. Sold from a truck down at Mackeral Cove, this lemonade slushy mixes perfectly with blueberry vodka and was served liberally each evening :) Another favorite part of our stay was the close proximity to everything. Several days, we walked to the local fish shack, bought whatever fresh fish had just arrived, hopped on over to the bakery for a fresh loaf of kalamata olive bread and rustled up an amazing dinner. The village is located a short half mile away which made it easy to walk to and from restaurants and bars. I truly can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay in this house. It ain't cheap to rent - that is for certain. But, in this case, we felt like we really did get what we paid for. This home was perfectly maintained both inside and out. And the owners were an absolute pleasure. Thanks for a wonderful week on the best island in RI!
