BEST VACATION EVER!!!

5 of 5
Our week at Green Hill House was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had! The house and property are EXACTLY as pictured, and the back deck overlooking the water is where we spent every day, except when we were at the beach, (just down the road) or visiting the awesome area attractions and eating at fabulous seafood restaurants located within a 20 minute drive. Chris was great, meeting us there even though we were later than anticipated, giving us the grand tour and pointing out things like the beach chairs and towels, bikes, gas grill and laundry, as well as the outdoor shower--the best! Oh, and telling us about the great market down the road, delicious steaks and seafood. The interior of the house was freshly painted in cool, soothing colors, the decor was very beachy without being tacky, and the entire place was impeccably clean, huge kudos to Chris and her cleaning crew! I often have a hard time sleeping on a mattress that is not my own, but the mattress on the queen size bed was very comfortable, and Chris had just put in the air conditioners in the two downstairs bedrooms as well as the loft, which had 3 twin beds, not two. There was also a ceiling fan in the living room and loft, and areas fans available. The address states that the property is on Green Hill Pond, but it is more like a lake, it's very large! There was a lot of boat, kayak, canoe activity on the weekend which was enjoyable to watch, then very quiet during the week. We are not boaters, but this location made me wish I was! There was also a good amount of bird activity, I would recommend bringing along a pair of binoculars. All in all I cannot say enough good things about Green Hill House! In fact, I cannot say anything negative about it! I am already planning our week long stay for 2015, maybe even two! Thank you Chris!!!

BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS AND A LOVELY HOME!

5 of 5
Gina is the most wonderful person to work with. She answers questions quickly and is so helpful courteous and nice. She has the most lovely home and it is lovingly taken care of. She has every amenity you can think of. It was so peaceful to sit on the back porch in that lovely room and watch as chickens, birds, squirrels or rabbits passed by. It was fun to be able to have a bonfire with the kids in the fire pit. She has taken such care to have books, music and movies available. There is a beach nearby and it is pretty small and private-hardly anyone was ever there. This was just a perfect location. It was such a relaxing quiet and beautiful place in such a beautiful state. I would love to go back in fact I didn't want to leave.(that is the only negative I have to say is that I didn't want to leave). The location was great because it was in between places we wanted to go ie: Mystic, CT and Newport RI -it was just a wonderful location and so much to do. Also there was an absolutely wonderful restaurant down the road called the Matunuck Oyster Bar ( this was recommended by Gina). Also about 1/2 away was Watch Hill Beach which featured the oldest Carousel which children can ride. If you ride into Newport there are Mansions to see, Fort Adams State Park, Goat Island, beaches. and lots or shopping etc.

GREAT PLACE FOR A FAMILY

5 of 5
What a wonderful week. The house was spacious, clean, and well suited for a family vacation. The hot/cold outside shower allows for most of the sand to stay outside and I think everyone but the grandparents used it most of the week. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, and everything I needed for cooking family meals. The deck was wonderful for meals and coffee in the morning as well. We had teenagers with us and not once did we hear, "I'm bored." The beach was-as stated- a short walk down the road. It was quite crowded on Sunday but otherwise was a fairly quiet, family oriented place. The previous reviews are correct about parking, there is literally space for 8-9 cars so if you had small children with lots of beach accessories it might be rough. We have kayaks but needed to rent a couple so everyone could go out together and there was a place to do so right on the breachway. There is also a kayak access right on Green Hill Rd to Green Hill Pond, but I'm not sure if you can access it as there is a sign for "civic members only" and I forgot to ask the owner about it. The house itself had a good selection of movies, and the kids did watch a couple of them in the evenings. Narragansett pier was about 20 minutes away, worth walking around the shops and a good meal out. The owner was readily available via email, and answered several questions that I had in a very timely manner. I would stay here again without any hesitation :)
