The perfect stay!

5 of 5
This was our first visit to Montreal and we are looking forward to our return. The condo was perfectly located within walking distance to parks, dining, shopping and Old Montreal. As a family traveling with three children, we felt safe and enjoyed the neighborhood feel. Richard welcomed us and gave a quick tour of the area-which was appreciated. The condo was absolutely spotless and exactly as pictured. The sleeping arrangements were nice and we found the neighborhood to be quiet. We'd recommend to friends!

Look forward to returning!

4 of 5
This was my husband and my first visit to Quebec City - we were looking for inexpensive accommodations where we could bring our dog. Definitely not easy to find. The apartment worked great for us. It is very clean, with a pleasant, bright, and spacious sitting/dining area. We enjoyed bringing back foods from local markets to eat breakfast at home, and sometimes a simple dinner at home, when we were too tired from sightseeing and just didn't want to go back out. The immediate neighborhood is not a "charming" or touristy area, but it is a just outside the upcoming St. Roche area and a comfortable walk to many restaurants and bakeries. I felt perfectly safe taking the dog out myself in the evenings. The first night we stayed was warm and with the windows open there was a fair amount of street noise - but that is to be expected in the city. When shut the windows did a great job of blocking out the noise. Francis and May were quick to respond to our booking request, and had fruit waiting for us on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Folks who are looking for luxury accommodations are not likely to be happy here - but we were and I definitely look forward to returning!

A honeymoon redux

4 of 5
Our last trip to Montreal was in 1977 - while much had changed, much had stayed the same. We hadn't explored the Plateau then, but thoroughly enjoyed it this trip! Christophe & Alexis' place is right in the 'coeur de Montreal', with easy access to the Metro (which is fabulous and very easy to use), and within walking distance to Mont Royal, Vieux Montreal, the Latin quarter and all of the best Montreal has to offer. Fine restaurants, great shopping and other places of interest are all in short walking distance. Our hosts were extraordinarily accommodating, and also met us at the apartment. They were kind enough to have provided coffee, milk and juice, and spoke to us at length about what few quirks their property had (parking signs were unintelligible to us, as neither of us spoke any but the most basic of French, and the nuances of the location of the signs needed to be explained). I would rate the property excellent, excepting for the lavatory. Prepare to be on very friendly terms with whomever you stay with, as there is minimal privacy. Also, the shower curtain, as another comment had mentioned, is 'challenging' (it keeps wanting to stick to you rather than the sides of the old claw foot tub). As well, it tends to leak, so water accumulates on the floor - it can get a bit slippery. The walls of the tub are also a bit high, so getting in and out requires some agility. Overall, we were pleased with the property - a good value with all you really need and the inconveniences were minor. Thanks again to Christophe and Alexis!
