                  Simply Magnificent!

                  5 of 5
We rented this property for a week over New Year to get together with extended family. Our group varied in age from 1 month old to 73... and everybody was thrilled! This house is truly magnificent, spacious, well maintained and just as shown in the beautiful pictures. It is obviously loved and well taken care of. Our large group of 11 never felt crowded and all could enjoy a private space/room while enjoying the large living room, dining room and kitchen. We much appreciated having the television in the gorgeous loft where teenagers could have their own space when they wanted. Still, even the teens enjoyed the many times shared on the main floor area where piano was played, songs were sang, great meals were cooked, puzzles completed and board games abound. The wood burning fireplace (and abundant fire wood) was perfect to keep the chill out of the house while maintaining a great ambiance throughout our stay. The view of the St-Lawrence is outstanding from many places in the house, which always give a sense of peace and simple, natural beauty. We fully took advantage of the convenient location, which is not too far from La Malbaie where we went to the pools at Manoir Richelieu and also not far from "Les sources joyeuses" where we enjoyed cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tubing. Everything in the house made our stay extremely enjoyable: we couldn't ask for anything else! All bed were comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms are well finished etc. We also enjoyed the overall feel and decorations of the house, which brought many memories to older folks in our group ("remember we used to have a dresser just like this one when we were growing up?")... Finally, the owner and caretakers were always responsive, courteous, patient and very accommodating. We will sure book again and enjoy this beautiful gem in the future!

                  Really Great Stay!

                  5 of 5
Spent a week at Echos de Fleuve in June, and had a wonderful stay. We have rented quite a few places on VRBO, and can say without question that this was the best. The house is basically new, and furnishings are first class throughout. Beds are top quality (a rarity in rentals), and the kitchen is well outfitted. We cooked and enjoyed many meals there – dining at the table with a panoramic view over the St Lawrence, across to Isle des Coudres The location is fantastic, down a sparsely travelled road a few kilometers from town – a pleasant bike ride on one of two bikes provided. Enjoyed riding in for fresh croissants from Chacun son Pain (the best bakery in town) While the town of Baie st Paul was torn up by roadwork during our visit, we did manage a few forays in for shopping, and a meal or two. There is an IGA market nearby that is a pretty standard supermarket, but is does feature a number of the local products. Far more fun to drive the “Route des Saveurs” and buy directly from the producers - cheese, Meat, foie gras, tomatoes, etc. The SAQ next door has a reasonable wine selection, but prices are frightfully high compared to the US. Excellent beer is produced locally at the Brasserie/Microbrewery de Charlevoix – the Dominus Vobiscum Blanche was our favorite. There is much to do in the area – we hiked in Grands Jardins, Canyoneered near St Joseph de la Rives, went whale watching near the mouth of the Saguenay fjord, and spent a day driving to and around the Isle des Coudres (great meat pie at the bakery there!). Enjoyed it all, but was especially pleasant to return to this spectacular house, wander the beach below, have a soak in the hot tub, and just soak in the view. Transactions with the owner were easy and pleasant. We had one minor issue with the plumbing which was fixed quickly. If you’re planning on being in the area, we highly recommend this house!
