We have spent five weeks at Casa Columbia in the last year (two in 2014 and three in 2015) and it is not nearly enough! Vieques is a terrific island and Casa Columbia is THE place to stay. We are in the hotel business and believe me, we know hospitality and great accommodations when we see them. Marc, the property manager couldn't be nicer or more helpful and Jack and Alan are the perfect hosts. They make sure, before you ever step foot on Vieques, that you know all the inside information on beaches, shopping restaurants, what to do and where to go. During our visit we chatted with lots of folks who were staying on the island, and we got comments like, "Is that the pretty yellow house on the hill that you can see from everywhere?"--yes--"You had a heated pool?? Wish we had one, it was too cold to swim in ours. Maybe we'll stay there next year." "You had a roof deck where you could see both the Atlantic and the Caribbean? Wow!".
If you're thinking about going to Vieques and renting a villa, just stop thinking and do it. Rent your jeep from Maritza's--1 minute from the villa--do the bioluminescent bay tour on a night with no moon, it's absolute magic--and spend your mornings at Media Luna beach and your afternoons in the heated pool at Casa Columbia. Life just doesn't get any better than that.
