Beautiful house we can't wait to come back!

5 of 5
First, very easy to make the reservation with Rene. Don't be nervous about dealing with an individual and not a 'hotel', there were no problems! The house was gorgeous! First, we arrived on a Tuesday and the house is very easy to find next to the W hotel and close to the airport but not too close where you hear airplane noise. The view from the living room and balconies were amazing. My 3 children loved the private pool and semi-private beach. Every time we went to the beach we were the only ones there! The beach is nice and we swam out in the water several times and had a great time finding shells and sea glass on the beach. All amenities in the house are as described by Rene. We NEVER go to the same place twice and we can't wait to go back to Vieques and stay here again!! Also, we encountered no problems on the island and never did not feel safe.

The Perfect Perch

5 of 5
Located high on a hill with views of both the Atlantic side, Culebra and mainland Puerto Rico as well as the Caribbean, I can not stress enough what a fabulous house this is. Convenient to both Esperanza and Isabell II we were only minutes from wherever we wanted to be on Vieques. We were traveling with teens and a 5 yr old and all age groups had a fantastic time. We were greeted by the caretaker upon landing at the tiny airport and he assisted us in getting to the car rental office and then to the property. He checked in with us during the week and was there again to see us off when we departed. The house was nicely appointed. We had plenty of beach towels, chairs and coolers to use for our daily trips to the beaches. Unfortunately our visit to Vieques was during some of the beach closings but this only means we'll need to return. Having the pool at the house was great for the kids and a fantastic way to relax after dinner and before heading to the roof for star gazing. The owners were great to work with and very helpful with any info that we needed. Do not miss the Bio Bay tour, it was truly one of the coolest things we've ever experienced.

Private, serene, restoring.

5 of 5
This was possibly one of the most peaceful & relaxing vacations we've had. It isn't just the beautiful simplicity of the casa; the remote hilltop setting, the rustling of the palm grove in the steady breeze, & the unobstructed view for miles all combine to absorb the stress from you & put you in a contemplative mood. Colleen, the house manager, met us at the airport so we could follow her to the house. She then gave us a brief but thorough primer on how the house works & how to get around Vieques before giving us her cell phone & leaving us to decompress. Ben, the homeowner, was responsive to my inquiries & was a pleasure to speak with by phone. He even called the house on our second day just to make sure we were happy or see if we needed anything. I felt comfortable that I could call either one if we needed anything at all; we didn't. The house & grounds, like Vieques, are unfussy, refreshing, & tranquil; luxurious in its solitude. Thank you Ben, for the privilege of staying in your special home.
