Excellent stay - would definitely come back to Casa de Pepito!

5 of 5
This was our first trip to Vieques and Casa de Pepito was the perfect choice for our little family (2 adults, 1 10-year-old girl). The house itself had everything we needed, was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the location was great...walking distance to all the restaurants and Esperanza beaches, and short Jeep rides to all the other beaches and sights on the island. Octavian and Catherine were both friendly and accommodating as we were planning our trip, and Barbara the caretaker picked us up at the airport and drove us back when it was time to go home, and gave us all kinds of helpful tips about navigating the island. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Island Retreat with all the Amenities

5 of 5
We recently spent a fabulous week at the Bravos Bungalows in Vieques. Tastefully done, the property offers two bungalows (one of three bedrooms, one of two), each with full kitchen, numerous ensuite bathrooms, and spacious living areas both inside and out. The two bungalows are adjoining but separate, perfect for two distinct groups or one large family gathering and the crowning jewel is the brand new saltwater pool with a stunning waterfall. The large breezeway, screened in sun room, and outdoor dining area are just a few of the extras we loved about staying at the Bungalows. The rooms are contemporary chic, everything you need and more from bottle openers to dishes to pots and pans and laundry room. Our room in the Pool Bungalow was large and well appointed, boasting an outdoor shower. Nothing like staring up at the sun while you get ready for the fun day ahead. Both the newly planted grounds and bungalows are impeccable. The compound is just a short walk from La Chata Beach, a great place to wander in search of sea glass and other treasures. Swimming at Sun Bay, romping in the waves at Navio Beach, Playa Grande, exploring the quaint stores in town and discovering the coolest dive bar (Al’s) to watch the sunset – all of these made our stay at Bravos Bungalows a totally rejuvenating and memorable vacation. We love Vieques and will definitely be back again. Clean, spacious, well appointed and private, The Bravos Bungalows is the island’s best kept secret but not for long because great news travels fast. If you love the beach and true island life, this is the place for you. Cannot wait to go back.

Viva Casa Mariposa!

5 of 5
Casa Mariposa is a delightfully colorful charming home! We loved both the screened "sun" room surrounded by a lush garden with ocean views and the shaded balcony also with panoramic ocean views. There was plenty of comfortable living space to relax. The home includes a TV/DVD player and CD player too. The home is located above Isabella II and receives ample breeze to stay cool and both bedrooms have AC . The kitchen is well supplied and we found everything we needed. We especially enjoyed being in a quiet neighborhood. The caretakers live across the street so it was fun to chat with the locals in the morning. One surprise was the variety of eating opportunities that Vieques offers; from excellent street food, pub fair, Mexican food, Puerto Rican dishes, casual to gourmet restaurants, local caught lobsters and fresh fish. You can go to the pier and see the daily fresh catch being brought in. The owner has a fine notebook including a description of the restaurants. Driving and finding our way around the island was simple. Infact there is no traffic signal on the island. We were surprised by the beautiful coral reefs and snorkeling at several of the beaches. We found Punta Arenas to be the best. There are many hidden coves as well as a fort worth seeing. One highlight of our stay was the bioluminescent bay kayak trip. There is plenty of adventure activities to fill you days! The owner is easy to work with and gave us several tips to maximize our stay on Vieques Island.
