A Magical, Intoxicating Place

5 of 5
This was the first trip my girlfriend and I have made to Vieques after many years of talking about going. We like to vacation in places a bit of the grid in beautiful natural settings. Last year we vacationed on Isla Mujeres off the Yucatan coast. Vieques was everything we had imagined and more. Navigating our jeep to find new beaches made every day feel like an adventure and we never stopped wondering at yet another beautiful, virtually deserted beach. It didn’t take us long to fall into the rhythm of island life. We also loved that the magnificent horses roamed free on the island along with various other species. Really hard to believe this island was so abused by the US military for so many years. And 360Vieques is amazingly beautiful home base. It is designed for you to spend as much time out-of-doors as possible. The various decks, the beautiful pool, the views from the roof with those intoxicating breezes- sigh – all made for a memorable experience. Both the design of the house and its physical location are really great. Besides sleeping, we spent very little time indoors. And even with sleeping, waking up to the amazing vista looking out to Caribbean made the start of every day breathtaking. Everything is made easy for the guests and we felt quite at home in no time. It's really hard to come up with suggested improvements. Possibly having wifi, although not having access probably helped our stress levels and kept us outside more of the time. The representation on the website is very accurate but the pictures really don’t capture the full experience. How do you capture in pictures the beautiful, warm intoxicating breezes that were a constant presence, the magnificent night sky, the changing lightscape from morning to dusk? The property managers Annette and Dennis were perfect hosts. Annette picked us up at our car rental and gave us an orientation to the island along with her favorite spots to dine, and Dennis had the unfortunate task of taking us to drop off our car rental before heading to our flight but not before talking about his island life. We'll definitely be back.

Beyond Belief

5 of 5
After several years of separate vacations, and on our honeymoon no less, my fella and I wanted nothing more than a gorgeous location to hunker down for a week & cook, sun bathe, read & wander in to a town once in awhile. The Casa provided the ultimate version of our vacation vision. It's an adventurous ride to the property (yes, you most decidedly need to rent a jeep) and the views once you get to the top of the hill are so worth it. No one believes the pictures are real. The yard is perfect, and filled with creative landscaping and a huge variety of native plants. The house is a unique structure with a gigantic open floor plan, big beautiful kitchen and a separate bedroom full of windows and local art. Unless we were away, the doors and windows were always open, making the song of the coqui frogs or the swishing of palm fronds our constant mood-enhancing soundtrack. The pool is perfect for actual lap-swimming or lounging with a tropical drink. Colleen, the caretaker, is a delight. She's easy to communicate with, provided tons of useful information about the island and made herself available during daylight hours. Ben also called to check on us, which was kind! If you want peaceful luxury in a perfect climate, this is your place. You're just a bumpy (fun!) 10 minute ride from Esperanza and a little more than that to the island's myriad beaches and activities. Honestly, though, once you've got your groceries purchased, you won't want to leave. Thank you Ben! Thank you Colleen! We will be singing your praises to other travelers and hope to return someday!

Beautiful island home in a land that time forgot

5 of 5
We had an amazing stay in a fantastic home. The nearby beaches are second to none Clean, clear water and white sand, dotted with coconut trees leave no doubt that you are in paradise. Everyone is friendly on the island. Horses wander freely about, grazing on the grasses. The pool is fresh and inviting, no need to leave the grounds. We had an amazing vacation and will be coming back.
