                              Recent Vieques Island Reviews

                              Private, serene, restoring.

This was possibly one of the most peaceful & relaxing vacations we've had. It isn't just the beautiful simplicity of the casa; the remote hilltop setting, the rustling of the palm grove in the steady breeze, & the unobstructed view for miles all combine to absorb the stress from you & put you in a contemplative mood. Colleen, the house manager, met us at the airport so we could follow her to the house. She then gave us a brief but thorough primer on how the house works & how to get around Vieques before giving us her cell phone & leaving us to decompress. Ben, the homeowner, was responsive to my inquiries & was a pleasure to speak with by phone. He even called the house on our second day just to make sure we were happy or see if we needed anything. I felt comfortable that I could call either one if we needed anything at all; we didn't. The house & grounds, like Vieques, are unfussy, refreshing, & tranquil; luxurious in its solitude. Thank you Ben, for the privilege of staying in your special home.

                              This House is Amazing

                              5 of 5
My Wife and I stayed at this house the first four days during our 8 day honeymoon, the other 4 days were spent at the W resort. While the W resort was lavish and posh, we much preferred the ambiance of this beautiful house up in the hills. Staying at Vieques 360 was the highlight of our trip. The house was every bit as amazing as it seems in the pictures. It is charming, relatively private (Just a few houses in close proximity) and captures the nature of Vieques. The house is plenty big enough for 2-4 people and it has the most amazing pool, looking out over the whole island. The pictures really don't do justice the feeling of sitting in that beautiful pool overlooking the island and out into the ocean. There is an unbelievable roof top deck. Perfect for sunrises, sunsets and sitting out under the stars. The bedroom has french doors overlooking the island and there is just the most soothing island breeze that constantly keeps air circulating through the house. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this house. We were able to do our own cooking some nights (Plenty of items to use) and the management team made sure the pool was kept in pristine condition while we were there.

Beautiful house on a magical island

                              5 of 5
We had our best family vacation ever at Casa La Puerta! The house is wonderful, with gorgeous views and a sparkling pool (the pool guy came and cleaned at least twice while we were there, which was fantastic). The kitchen is very well-equipped; and the owners have thought of everything and provided it for guests. Toys & towels for the pool and beach, coolers, reusable water bottles, card and games, DVDs, extensive restaurant recommendations & guidebooks...you name it! The house was spacious and immaculately clean with tasteful furniture, and the owners graciously loaned us everything we needed for our two year old - carseat, high chair, pack and play. This made travelling so much easier. Our older kids (4 and 6) were thrilled with the pool and of course the island's incredible beaches. The grownups loved the grill, and sitting outside on the terrace after the kids were in bed. Our favorite beaches (all great for young children) were Media Luna, Secret Beach (aka Plata Prieta), Sun Bay and Blue Beach. Our favorite restaurants were Next Course, Tradewinds, Duffy's and Bili. (We also had a great lunch at the W Hotel but that resort isn't really in keeping with Vieques' laid back island life.) We rented a Jeep from Juergen at Abreeze guest house, which was very straightforward; he can pick up from the airport and drop you back there, and Abreeze is very close to Casa La Puerta. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this fantastic family-friendly house to anyone wanting to visit Vieques.
