Heavenly retreat!

5 of 5
Evamer is a fabulous place to stay! The grounds are beautiful, the property manager Jinette was extremely helpful and had a warm and welcoming personality. We stayed during the off season, so they had special rates! Each bungalow has a great view to the ocean, and there are steps down to your own private beach that only a few properties have access to. Each bungalow has a security system, and the entrance/beach access are gated. Jinette even set up our Jeep reservations with Maritza's Jeep Rental, which was very helpful. The pictures are a little outdated, they've repainted and it is so bright and picturesque, they really do take care of the place. They give you access to plenty of beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, and floaties so you can feel comfortable when you go beach hopping. The sunsets are to die for and the views are incredible! I heard from a few locals that if you climb a few rocks on the beach, the other side is a sea glass beach! Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to explore. The wi-fi is great now, we were able to access the internet on our phones and laptop with no troubles. When we come back to Vieques, we are staying here!

I would give it 10 stars

There is no better place to stay in Vieques. Usually upon leaving a first time vacation spot we remark, "That was great, but next time we'll do such and such better." There is nothing we could do to improve upon this vacation. Jackie is the consummate hostess. She picked us up from the airport and drove us the 5 minutes to the casita, then did the same when we checked out. She was a pleasure to chat with, and helpful in her recommendations. The room was attractive and comfortable, providing all the necessary ammenities including a view of the ocean. Though, in truth, with all the beauty that Vieques has to offer, the only time we spent in the room was asleep. We ate in the outdoor kitchen, lounged and swam in the private pool, relaxed on our private balcony, and strolled along our private beach (a seperate beach from the W Hotel's). Located on the property of the W Hotel, but separate from the hotel, convenience was optimal. We rented our car at the hotel, left for our BioBay tour from the hotel, and ate twice at Sorce'. If you didn't want to leave this property, you absolutely wouldn't have to (though you would miss the gorgeous beaches Vieques has to offer). My husband and I went to Vieques to celebrate our 15 year anniversary with the intent to relax and do nothing. At Sandcastle Casitas, we were able to accomplish this on our own terms with relaxed luxury and ultimate privacy. It was perfection. We drove all over the island, and I wouldn't say anywhere else.

Fantastic Trip!

5 of 5
My family and I had a wonderful stay at A Touch of Glass Beach House during our visit to Vieques. The house was amazing with comfortable living arrangements, beautiful views, access to a wonderful stone and sea glass beach, and so much more. Within walking distance to two great bakeries, a nice walk to either the lighthouse or the fort, and easy access to everything. One of the main reasons we chose Vieques and A Touch of Glass was to have a vacation that was not so full of tourist attractions and commercialism. Walking the streets from the house to the bakeries and such we enjoyed interacting with the friendly and hospitable locals and being, at least in a small way, part of the local culture. A great experience to all of the Morells. While staying in the Beach House we enjoyed the iguanas and crabs in the back yard, snorkling in the waters off the Beach House shore, and investigating the ship that is sunk nearby. As for the rest of the island visiting the many beautiful beaches, the bioluminescent bay, and horseback riding were just a couple of the amazing experiences we enjoyed. Taking beautiful senic rides on Veiqueses interesting highways, snorkling at different locations, and enjoying the tropical weather made our relaxing experience at A Touch of Glass even better.
