The house was everything we expected it to be based on the description, and I would stay there again without hesitation. Well appointed, clean, comfortable and with a thoughtful touch; Paul has supplied everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach, ready to lend. The house is situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood with a couple of bars close by, but part of what I am looking for when I travel is a peek at how people live, so it was perfect for us. If you require absolute silence to be happy, you may not enjoy it as much, but we thought it was great. Close to coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, a museum, the town square and plenty of other places worth walking to, and features a lovely outdoor patio for when you feel like sitting down at the end of the day and just people watching. We also had a car, since we were intending to do a beach tour of Vieques, so we were able to go back and forth to Esperanza, as well as the beaches, with ease. I vacillated between staying in Isabel and Esperanza, but in the end I had no regrets with the choice we made (and given that it was spring break, I actually think being on the municipal side of the island was the quieter choice) The small size of the island makes everything quite doable, and the longest ride you'll have to take to cross the island is 15 minutes or so.
