Jungle Cabin

5 of 5
My husband and I are not interested in hotels or areas filled with tourists. We wanted to be away from everyone so we searched long for a place to truly show the heart of Puerto Rico. When we saw photos of the jungle cabin, we knew that we had to experience it. The photos and description helped define the setting but you have to truly experience the sounds of it. If you and your significant other, or friend, are willing to relax, read, converse and enjoy each others company, this is the place for you. Marlene was a pleasure to meet. She lives on the property with her dogs, cats, horses and any animal she can feed, and truly enjoys her life. You have to read her directions she sends you, don't follow any navigation. You will lose reception, which was a blessing for me, no work emails. We bought our wifi speaker for music and highly suguest it. The cabin is clean, roomy for two. The outside couch is where it all happens. The cabin really belongs to the cat who is so friendly and is fun to watch her hunt. We highly recommend stopping to get food at the market she suggests on the way. There is a fridge, coffee maker, silverware, microwave, bbq and cabinets. Seems that everyone who stayed there over the years left an item to share. Ask Marlene where to find anything you need, she will find the way to provide it if she doesn't already know it. All the local food stops were amazing. There is a bar not far who serves home made Puerto Rican food on certain days, the owner is so nice and the locals greeted us. You will not be bit by any bug/mosquito the remaining of PR has because this cabin has so many pretty camilions who will save you the itch. This trip was everything we were looking for and Marlene was an amazing host, we will return again. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did, thank you Marlene.

An extraordinary place to enjoy for a full week!

4 of 5
A well maintained cozy house, with enough space to enjoy all the inside of the property, quiet place to read, enjoy the Nature, the birds and the amazing views in and out of the property; location is perfect to access a large pool of tourism attractions just 15-30 minutes drive, in example, the Taino Ceremonial Park ( just plan to stay on the place for 1- 2 hours with the park rangers who are eager to tell you the Taino culture stories; plan to access the Tanama River Canon with one of the local business on the neighborhood; my recommendation, get the best information from the house business owner; he can give you plenty of advise on what to do. Enjoy the Puerto Rico mountains like any other!.

Amazing place!

5 of 5
We are a couple that has travel all over.. This place was more than we ever imagine the landscape is beautifull with every detail you can imagine well kept from well kept little gardens everywhere to a private floating dock with paddle boards and kayaks included. The house itself its a beautifull 2 floor wooden open space with the rooms over looking the living room and the terrace which has a hammock and a comfty area for several guest. You will find everything you need inside the house the owner has thought of everything you could need. There's a wooden open shack on the back with a brick grill and a open deck over looking the lake theres also a fire pit with two chairs over looking the pristine lake. Its a wonderful place to disconect, youll find yourself relaxing at any corner of the property.. The owner and his father have really gone the extra mile for you to have an amazing experience cant wait to return...
