What is very important to note is that this penthouse is rented by the owner (personally) who resides there for several months in the winter. This is not an agency cookie cutter dark hole rental which is common in beach towns. The owner is very detailed and amazingly helpful with everything. I think he sleeps with his phone near him and is very attentive with email or phone during the stay. He provides a "luxurious" service experience with his beautiful beach condo which made our trip. Of note - the pictures are dead on accurate - no deferred maintenance of anything when you arrive. It's a beautiful place just like it appears and probably the nicest condo complex in Rincon.
We chose Rincon, Puerto Rico and this lovely penthouse for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. Due to the holidays & school being out we took our 3 daughters - 17,13,11. This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and will not be our last.
A few weeks ahead of our trip the owner spent about 45 minutes on the phone with me describing in detail various day trip places, all the beach locations, fun things to see and do, great places to eat and generally all the highlights up and down the west coast of PR. We wanted to see as much of the western coast of PR as we could so we took several day trips to the various sites per his recommendations which were spot on. His list of fun stuff and great eats are accurate - we had no mediocre experiences via his suggestions.
The penthouse location is as close to the water as you could build a structure safely. From the elevator exit its about 50 steps to the sand. Each morning we had our coffee & breakfast out on the huge wrap around balcony which has seating for about 12-15. Our family of 5 had plenty of room in the condo. The grounds are immaculate and the pool is as pictured. The beach is almost private because of its location. Rincon's public beach area is a couple miles north so nearly everyone enjoying this stretch of beach is from the complex. We snorkeled right of the beach to the left and had great visibility our first day.
The trip highlight (amongst many) was probably snorkeling Tres Palmas Marine Preserve off Steps Beach (1-2 miles north of the complex). It's a coral reef right off the beach that is protected. Our 3 daughters found 2 seperate sea turtles in the reef hanging out. They swam with the turtles for 15 minutes.
Among 20 years of 1-3 vacations per year this is in the top few experiences. Enjoy!
