I gave this 4 stars, but 3.8 of that is for the location. Steps from a great beach with a low population, excellent local restaurants and markets - you simply can't beat where this house is located. On the down side, there is a public access point right next to the house. Local fishermen and beach users drive down fairly regularly - if that bothers you, be aware. The house is smaller than it looks, but that's mitigated by a large open deck accessed thru two sets of double doors you can leave open. I was disappointed by the furnishings; the only chairs were hard plastic table chairs and loungers - nothing cushioned to sit on except the futon (which serves as the 5th and 6th occupant sleeping area). No beach chairs, nor were there any beach towels. When we arrived, the beds were not made, even though our arrival date and time was known ahead - not a big issue, but annoying. The beds were very uncomfortable for the price of the rental... the futon was the most comfortable place to sleep, if that tells you anything. There were rules posted everywhere, listing all the things you could not do (including drinking alchohol). While I think some of these were simply to cover the owner for liability, again, it was simply annoying. The shower head fell off every time the water was turned off, so I tied a plastic shopping bag around it to hold it steady. Lastly, if you have little kids, be aware of the fire ants... anywhere you have grass, look for the tell tale little hills of fine dirt. Those things hurt when they bite!
All said, I would consider renting this place again, only for the location - but I would strongly suggest the owners consider updating the furniture and providing some alternative outdoor seating - this place could be a real gem with only a bit of effort.
