The Johnson's from South Carolina

5 of 5
Wow!! I have never rented a house before. It was my wife's idea to get away from the hotels and venture to the other side of the island. I was skeptical. My son is stationed in the US Coast Guard in San Juan and wanted to visit the west side of the island as well. My wife went on the vrbo web site and found Casa Tamara. My wife's best friend is named Tamara, so we were destined to try it. What an awesome house and location. There was everything and more in the house: Snorkeling equipment, blender for frozen drinks, grill, children's beach toys....too much to name. The only thing we had to buy for the house was food and of course beer. Is you like snorkeling, you will be in paradise. Right there at the house I must have seen 100 varieties of fish. I regret not bringing my underwater camera from home, along with my scuba license. In closing I would like to say that the Owner and care keeper are as nice as the house.

Beautiful home w/ every amenity you could want

4 of 5
The home is absolutely gorgeous. The photos and description actually don't do it justice. My extended family of 11 ventured down for a much needed relaxing vacation. We were greeted on time by the property manager who gave us a tour of the house and talked through the different amenities of the house. After he left we did some additional digging around and found everything we could have wanted (beach towels, any type of recreation equipment you could imagine) and more. Teresita really goes out of her way to make it feel like home and be convenient (including a bag of local coffee). As I mentioned, the grounds were gorgeous. The pool/deck area were massive with enough room to accommodate everyone with ease. The pool was clean and well maintained with the cleaners coming twice during the week we were there. The kitchen and living room were a little small but all the better to force us down to the beach or out by the pool. Downstairs living room was great for the children to relax and play during the afternoon. Plenty of amenities (beach club, golf course, equestrian, casino and beach) were available by a short car or golf cart ride. Restaurants were sparse in the area and those we did find were just kind of there. Only complaint was the home doesn't really seal well allowing the humidity to always be present. The A/C units in each room were adequate to make it comfortable but would have loved to been able to escape the humidity at night. All and all, it was an amazing home which helped to provide a central hub for a great vacation. Thank you Teresita for opening your home to us.

Relaxing Puerto Rican Paradise

5 of 5
My friend & I visited Bare Dreams in July & stayed for 8 days. We chose Bare Dreams based on reviews & could not have been more pleased! The guest room & bathroom have a separate entrance, & the patio area that is outside the room is gorgeous. The bed is incredibly comfortable & the AC unit works very well. You can either open the windows & let the sea breeze blow through the room or use the AC. A low coffee table, patio chairs, hammock & beautifully landscaped fountain are the first things you see when walking out your door, & beyond the edge of the patio multiple flower areas are well-maintained with a variety of blooming flowers & trees. Past the garden area you see the ocean and its a short walk to the beach. The topless terrace boasts a scenic view of the sea & garden below, & has lounge chairs for relaxing. Breakfast every morning is served on the second floor balcony which also faces the ocean and garden. Breakfast is amazing! I LOVED Saadia’s omelets & everything else she cooked! The property itself is wonderful & is worth booking for the above reasons, however I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Saadia & her superb level of service & I know our trip would not have been as amazing without her! Saadia was able to suggest & book activities for us, make reservations at restaurants, & truly made our stay relaxing & stress-free. We had a private tour of the Bio-Bay with a biologist, went spear-fishing, hiked to 3 different deserted beaches based on her directions & recommendations, visited Old San Juan, took an ATV tour, spent time relaxing on a beach that provided snorkels, paddle-boarding, kayaking, umbrellas in the water – truly a tropical paradise! On at least 3 different occasions, Saadia called the owners of restaurants & made reservations for us; we did not have to wait & they knew exactly who we were when we walked in. She writes the weather on a chalkboard near the coffee maker every day, so you know the chance of rain & temperature. We had the opportunity to get to know Saadia while staying there, & I would highly recommend doing so! Derek caught our dinner while spearfishing, & Saadia even cooked our catch (which was delicious, of course!). We had so much fun with her & that is partly why our stay was special & so much fun; I feel that we left being friends. You have plenty of privacy at Bare Dreams, but you should get to know Saadia – you will not regret it! When we go back to Puerto Rico, we will definitely stay at Bare Dreams
