We just got back from our amazing stay! We have (5) children & had an amazing time! The Bahia Beach/St. Regis property/grounds are by far the most beautiful & unique I've ever seen (and I've worked in the travel industry for years..so I've seen a lot). This property has a nature center w/certified Naturalists. Our children were able to release baby turtles in the ocean, collect sand dollars on shore, pick up star fish while snorkeling (via private sailing excursion), bike ride on the stunning trails & kayak through the canals (which you can see in the villa photos).
The only issue we had was that we wished we had access to the resort pool. The one for the residents is nice but pretty small. The good news is that they are developing a much larger one & expected to be complete in August! The beach club is also very nice. A lovely area with hammocks, tables & beach chairs.
Charlie's Car Rental - local company & best rates.
Erin Go Bragh Charters - for a nice private family excursion.
Restaurants: Fern (at the resort) - best food we had on trip.
Seagrass (at resort) - great for lunch & great adult drinks.
Lobby Bar (at resort) - very small (a little disappointing) but only real late night option close by. Tried some other restaurants off site but nothing I would recommend.
The villa was exactly as the photos depicted - very clean, well appointed. I would agree w/the other reviews that the shower situation in the master should be altered. Also, note, this unit is on the 2nd floor (looked like it was on the 1st from the photos - which is probably better for security reasons anyway). I would also recommend putting a safe in the unit (just to have ease of mind) & ironing board. Other than that, it was great. The owners stocked the fridge, per our request (which was very nice). There are also bath amenities (just like a hotel) with shampoo, shower gel, etc - nice touch for a villa. I'm certain we will be back & have already recommended to others! The things my children did in one trip took me several separate trips to experience. This place is a hidden gem!
*One more tip…navigation (of any kind) doesn't work in PR!!! We got lost several times - make sure to get very specific driving instructions around the island! Enjoy!
