Family vacation with my two “twenty young” kids. Comfortable accommodations, beautiful, fully equipped eat in kitchen. Awesome nicely AC cooled rooms. Great shower pressure. Cable TV, wifi (in case you also have to check email), beach chairs, and beach toys!
Early AM, took a short trip to the local bakery, purchased watering freshly baked bread (pan de agua), brewed a cup of local coffee, then sat on the gazebo...just watch the water & sky and listen to the waves, birds and ocean...
Great swimming beach...right there! Go in the water, float on one of the noodles, and just feel the warm water sooth your body and refresh your spirit.
Took 1 hour walks every day along the sandy shore.
At 5 PM drive to the pescaderia... the local catch? we ran into the most delicious black fin tuna (son and daughter did the cooking) and lobster --Wow!!! Of course, we also enjoyed local cuisine at a few of the many dinning choices also within minutes.
Location is convenient to several grocery stores and bakeries. 5 minutes to center of town which is quite endearing. Lots of other beaches within minutes each with particular fun activities... Went scuba and snorkeling (Taino Divers) -- saw 3 turtles, squid, manta ray, lobster, lots of colorful coral and marine life... Rented paddle board, son tried his luck at one of several Rincon's famous surfing beaches. Required lots of sun tan lotion.
6PM...What a wonderful sunset!!! Same gazebo where in the AM had coffee... now sipping a glass of Merlot, was treated to spectacular scenery.
We also participated in a couple of inland adventures. Visited Gozalandia (about 1 hr drive) (you tube it) in San Sebastian ( a wonderful natural setting with waterfalls and swimming pool, lots of launching pads for dives into the “not so warm” mountain water. Well worth it! Also went ziplining at Toro Verde (you tube it Toro Verde – La Bestia) (1.5 hr drive) a) georgeous setting, b) thrilling, c) well run, d) so much fun! .
Great place, great vacation. Cannot wait to do it again.
