This beautiful home definitely met our expectations based on the listing and reviews (I'd say exceeded, but the beautiful pictures and positive comments already set the bar quite high!). We were a group of 8 that used 4 of the 6 bedrooms - so we had plenty of room to spare in this large house. The home is in a gated community with 2 separate gates and a guard or two, so we felt very safe with our young children there.
Owner Carlos is very congenial and accommodating. His assistant (also named Carlos) did a great job ensuring that things ran smoothly (one of the air conditioners was leaking and it was fixed the first business day after we arrived). We rented both vehicles (Suburban and Jeep) that week, so we were picked up and dropped off at the airport by Carlos. Both vehicles were well-maintained and clean.
The unexpected highlight for our oldest daughters (4 and 6) were the 3 chickens that ran around in the back yard. They loved going to the chicken coop every morning and collecting the eggs - and we enjoyed breakfast with fresh eggs twice that week!
I would recommend this property if you are looking to see Puerto Rico away from the cookie cutter resorts. Be aware though, that you will be staying in a home, NOT a resort. In particular, if you want to spend your time in Puerto Rico sitting in air-conditioning, this is not the place for you. If you run all of the air conditioners 24-7, you will definitely far exceed the electricity "budget." We ran 4 of the air conditioners at night and for the girls' nap times and enjoyed the beautiful weather the rest of the time. This put us much closer to the 400 kW-hours budgeted. The trade-off for the loss of a little cold air is a private, beautiful home with your own pool, which for us was more than worth it!
