If you want or expect a resort, stay at a resort and have a great time. If this is your first trip to Puerto Rico and you want to do touristy things that are close, you might want another property. If you want your place secluded and private with incredible access to some of the best wildlife watching and views you have ever experienced you might want to consider this property.
First the house. It is tucked waaaay back in a neighborhood that will scare you a little when you first drive up. This is Puerto Rico and many of the residential areas look like this. The longer you stay the more comfortable you will get. I did not feel unsafe or even uncomfortable for one minute. Everyone is very friendly and keeps to themselves. Town is easy to find even when it is dark. The house is quite nice, the pictures are very accurate. The beds are actually pretty comfortable and the space for the kids is great. Like most houses in PR there is no hot water (its not that bad). The WiFi was strong and we had no problems with it for over a week. The house is pretty spacious but trust me, you will spend very little time in it.
The outdoor space is the star of this property. There is so much to do; your group will love it. The pool is great. Nice sunny spot so you can lie in the comfortable chairs and catch some rays while the kiddos swim. Outdoor bathroom and shower right by it so you don’t have to run through the house wet. The outdoor kitchen/bar space is outstanding. Mix up a pina colada or have a beer (try the Puerto Rican beer Medalla Light!) while enjoying the outdoors. The picnic tables are nice to have a meal or just sit and chat outside. The outdoor spaces are situated on the property a little spaced out so you are able to enjoy different parts of the property without being crowded or sitting on top of each other.
This place begins and ends at the water. The view is incredible. The house sits on a wildlife preserve and it doesn’t disappoint. The bay protects the beach and the waves are more like a lake (the bottom is kind of mucky, also like a lake). The dock really adds to your ability to experience the water. Shine some strong flashlights or headlamps in the water at low tide at night, it’s like a fishtank. Simply incredible.
If you can’t tell, I really enjoyed my stay at this house. I wish I was there right now.
