A slice of heaven

My family and I have been fortunate to be able to travel quite a bit over the past decade, however our latest trip to PR was by far the best family vacation we have ever taken. I booked the villa on my own so it was a complete surprise to my wife and four sons ( ages 21, 20, 18 and 14). Let me just say that the pictures do not do the place justice. The home was beautiful and exceeded our expectations, it has everything you could possibly need! The access to the Ritz Carlton Reserve was a huge plus and we enjoyed our days at the water park and beach. You can be as busy or relaxed as you choose. We even got to meet Jimmy Fallon who was vacationing as well. The six of us were pretty depressed when we left after our week at Dave & Lilly's. I look forward to our return someday soon. I really cannot give any higher a recommendation to not only the villa but also to the graciousness of Lilly and Dave to ensure that we had no worries while we were there. Great house/ Great owners!!!!

excellent vacation spot

We had a wonderful stay at Villa de Paz during Christmas week. The villa was spacious, clean, decorated nicely and very comfortable. The views from the balconies are breathtaking and the ocean breezes are incredible. We enjoyed use of the beach at the Embassy Suites and many local restaurants. We had everything we needed for a week of fun and relaxation. We arrived 2 days before Christmas and were pleasantly surprised by some Christmas decorations as well as some fresh fruit waiting in the fridge and in a bowl. Very nice touch, those details were lovely. There were many pieces of information regarding local adventures and restaurants available to us. The property manager, Ana Rivera was a gem. Any time we had a question for her she responded quickly and was more than helpful. I give a great recommendation for this lovely villa and a big thank you to the owners and property manager.

Lovely, simply lovely!

We had a delightful stay at this property. As three women traveling together, the gated community was very important to us; we felt safe and secure in our home and on the adjacent beach. The view from the patio is just as gorgeous as pictured, and the secluded (not private) beach is steps away. The house was perfect for our needs, it's not a resort, but it's clean, cozy, and the location absolutely cannot be beat. We did have a rainy day and did not experience the leaks mentioned by other reviewers, so this must have been corrected. Mari and Manolo were wonderful hosts, checking in just enough that we knew they were available, but not so much as to be obtrusive. We almost booked a rental that was further inland, rationalizing that we would be at the beach most of the time and wouldn’t be in the house anyway, but I’m SO glad we rented the Dorado Beach House, having the ocean right out the back door (you’re up a little and it’s not a swimming beach, so no people are looking in your back door) and the secluded beach just steps away really made this a vacation to remember. If you’re on the fence, I can only tell you to book it, you won’t be sorry! Tips *We used the Dorado Starbucks in our GPS as the end point, it's easy to navigate back to the house from there and Siri always found it. *Use the Catano ferry if you're going into Old Town, it's cheap, easy to park, and you get a great view of the city from the water. Plus the free trolley stops right outside. *Check out the Ruta de Lechon, it's a drive, but you get to see the mountainous part of the island, and the food is to die for! *Buy some Yaucono coffee at CVS on the cheap, we had some every morning on the patio and took some home for souvenirs. Add a little sweetened condensed milk (poor man's dulce de leche!) and it's perfection.
