“Awesome Weekend Getaway for Large Group!”

5 of 5
I rented the Villa with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time! The rooms were comfortable and had great AC, the kitchen was well appointed and the grill was great. We had a great time visiting nearby town and Flamenco beach, using the Kayaks and watching football then cooking and sharing a meal with our whole group. Unforgettable experience and will definitely be back again!

INCREDIBLE VILLA, GREAT VIEW, AMAZING VACATION!

5 of 5
My family and I decided to stay at the Seahorse Villa for a long weekend in the summer. The villa was absolutely amazing, to say the least! The rooms were spacious and clean, the bathrooms we rustic and modern, and the living room and kitchen area was equipped with everything from state of the art kitchen appliances to cable TV. The villa has a great infinity pool that overlooks the coast. We also had other amenities such as a washer and dryer, a BBQ, and speakers to listen to music while laying on the lounge chairs and tanning. When it comes to location, look no further! The villa is a short 5 minute drive from the main town full of shops and restaurants, 10 to 15 minute drive from Flamenco Beach, and a 2 minute walk from Melones Beach, which is perfect for snorkling. Overall, we had an amazing experience! We absolutely loved the villa and everything it has to offer. Rest assured, if we ever decide to vacation in Culebra, we will most definitely be staying at the Seahorse Villa.

great location, wonderful view overlooking the bay

5 of 5
Communication with our small group of 3, was timely, and Rich provided LOTS of information about the island, and its attractions. The 3 bedrooms are spacious, and we got a laugh when we discovered the ear plugs, supplied to drown out the roosters, that start crowing VERY early in the morning..... it's OK, you get used to them. We dined out, and also used the well equipped kitchen for meals. We were there to scuba dive, and for underwater photography, and if that is your plan for this island, I can say this: DON'T BOTHER! The coral is not in good shape at all, and where we were taken, the visibility was not what we had all grown to expect in much better dive locations in the Caribbean. We only dove two days, and the second day was only because they were going to charge one of us who had given them a credit card number. After the first day we said we weren't interested in doing any more dives, and the answer was, we will charge your credit card because you didn't give 24 hours notice. The cost of really crappy diving was exorbitant, in the same price range as diving in, for example, the Turks and Caicos Islands... (around $115 a day) where the diving is so much better there is no comparison. We are all seasoned divers with between 350 and 675 dives logged, so we have been to many places around the world to compare Culebra with. The rest of the week we snorkelled, and with some local information, found a beach where there were a number of turtles to watch, in relatively shallow water, about 12-15 feet, so got some decent "available light" shots of them feeding and surfacing for air. We rented a jeep, and you will need to do something similar if you want to see much of the island, or go out for dinner. Dinghy Dock (?) is highly recommended, as is Zak's Taco. We ran into our delightful Cape Air pilot a few times at night in some of the local restaurants, since she lives there, and she flies the plane back and forth a few times a day to San Juan.
