Amazing House, Perfect Getaway!

5 of 5
Tulio is a great host, and his property is an amazing private getaway that's perfect for families and groups. My children and I travel to Culebra every year for Easter break, this year we wanted a bigger space that was closer to the beach - Tulio's place was perfect. A ten minute walk to the ferry port, and five minutes to Melones beach it's easy to access but hidden at the end of a private drive so you get the best of convenience and privacy. The house was clean and spacious, with AC units in the rooms, clean/fresh towels, indoor and outdoor showers and hammocks on both levels. This place was turn-key, everything from coolers to beach chairs, to pots and pans, a bbq grill and bar tools; anything you need to make the best of a vacation on the beautiful island of Culebra. The kids had a great time! There were chickens and iguanas, coqui and hermit crabs; a wildlife adventure! The house literally sits just twenty steps from the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. We will definitely be back next year!

A honeymoon we'll keep reminiscing about forever.

5 of 5
My wife and I got married in August, and we knew right away that we wanted to find somewhere tropical and secluded. After several internet searches, and a lot of deliberation, we settled on Puerto Rico, and then Culebra, and then Casa Yaboa's Tree Nest. From the very beginning, it was just better than we could have ever imagined. Jacinto, the owner, was very good to us. He picked us up at the ferry in his Jeep and brought us to a Jeep/golf cart rental place. At first, just looking at the mileage, we foolishly thought we might be able to walk or bike the whole week. But at Jacinto's discretion, we got a golf cart, and we definitely needed it! Casa Yaboa is a fairly long, but extremely pleasant drive from the town and dock. And we enjoyed making the drive every day. Every day we found something to explore, whether it was the world-famous Flamenco Beach, our own private Playa Brava, the extremely close-by Zoni Beach, the charming little museum that tells the island's history, or the little bay we could watch from the Tree Nest. The house was everything we needed. We loved the outdoor shower and deck space. You really feel high up in the trees, and nothing in this world beats falling asleep and waking up to the gentle sounds of the Caribbean waves... It was extremely private and secluded. Sometimes, on our deck, we felt like we were the only ones on the island. If privacy is your thing- make sure to check out Zoni Beach. Oftentimes, we were the only ones in sight. But Playa Brava is the real gem. Ask around about how to hike through the jungle for your own personal tropical paradise. We loved the town too. Putting around in our little golf cart at night was the perfect way to spend the evenings. Just be aware that everything closes sort of early, so if you want to get something to eat, you'd better be on top of it or you'll have to go hungry. Speaking of eating, Jacinto's place, Susie's was great, but it was expensive. We highly recommend Zaco's Tacos, and above all else, Heather's Pizza. The pizza and atmosphere were highly unique, and something we have talked about every week since our trip. Culebra is beautiful, and the Tree Nest is the perfect place to experience it in. We'll remember it forever.

A Nice Getaway

5 of 5
This was a GREAT vacation rental. My partner and I love to feel like we can get away from the crowds, but still have some access to the town/civilization, and this was the perfect location. We weren't expecting much for snorkeling on the property, and were delighted to find some great snorkeling and beach-combing (note: you have to swim out a little ways, but the owner can point you in the right direction). Everything was clean and in working order in the rental, and wonderfully quiet; you can't beat falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. We were also able to see the stars and the Milky Way from this location, which was a nice surprise. The owner was very nice and accommodating, and fantastic to work with, answering all our questions and giving us advice for places to visit around the island. The only consideration for us next time regarding this location was the heat. There are ceiling fans and the nightly temperature is generally pleasant, but the midday heat from about 1 to 4pm was unbearable, and the ceiling fans didn't do much. I will admit I'm somewhat of a polar bear and not used to the humidity, and if we had to do it again, we'd make sure we were in the ocean during those times and not resting in the casita. Overall, I would highly recommend this location to the adventurous couple that wants to get away and enjoy the quieter side of island life.
