Wonderful house for a stay on beautiful Culebra

5 of 5
Mariber house is the perfect rental property for 4 adults and up to 4 children on Culebra. The property is lovingly cared for, and very thoughtfully decorated and equipped. The house was bigger than I expected and the neighborhood is very quiet when you need to sleep. The location is ideal for exploring Culebra, and the off street parking for 2 vehicles is a real bonus. The owner is wonderful to work with and very helpful. The in-town location makes the house very convenient - be sure to rent a Jeep or golf cart for exploring. There are at least 7 fantastic beaches that can be reached by Jeep on Culebra. Wonderful restaurants on the island also (within 10 minutes of the house) including the Dinghy Dock, Zackos Tacos, and Mamacitas. We look forward to returning.

Caribbean Bliss!

5 of 5
We greatly enjoyed our rejuvenating stay at Casa Estrella. The villa was warmly appointed with rustic island decor, and well-stocked with all of the comforts and amenities one might need (kitchen utensils and appliances, movie and book library, beach gear, towels and linens, etc.), making the place truly feel like a second home. We spent most of our evenings and mornings on the spacious deck overlooking the bay, grilling up seafood--it was the hotspot of the villa for us. Even though the villa does not have AC, it's position on a hill adjacent to the bay brought in a constant stream of breezes. We also were happy with the location of Casa Estrella in relation to the rest of Culebra--it was set back from the more populated downtown area, becoming our own little nirvana to escape to after the day's adventures. We really couldn't have asked for more in terms of a Caribbean getaway... don't hesitate to see for yourself! Culebra is an enchanting island, and Casa Estrella encapsulates its uniquely beautiful vibe with perfection.

amazingly beautiful and incredibly private

5 of 5
I love to travel and I have to say this is the best VRBO I have ever stayed at and one of the most relaxing and wonderful vacations we have ever had as a family. This place is simply amazing. The location, views, pool, layout of the home are all perfect. We arrived to a rainbow in the early evening and enjoyed a week of a bright moon at night and amazing stars. We traveled with another family and each couple had beautiful bedrooms with ocean views and breezes. The two rooms the teens slept in were great (and we all appreciated they had their own bathroom) but did not have the views. They mainly slept out on the very private and secure deck under the stars and retreated to the back rooms when the sun came up. Really a perfect situation for teens! I have not had another vacation stay where I would have felt completely comfortable with my kids sleeping outside the house. The main area of the house is separated from the bedrooms and allowed some people to stay up late, others to wake early, and no one bothered anyone. The main room also feels like you are outside due to the patio doors and breezes and no one felt like it was a chore to go inside to cook with those amazing views. We also could escape the sun when we wanted but still feel like we were outside. This is not a generic vacation home and I really appreciated that. It looks like someone creatively and comfortably decorated it and it creates a beautiful and relaxing environment. If you are looking for generic this is not it...but then you probably would not like Culebra either since it is not that type of island vacation. This is our second trip to Culebra and I loved the Flamenco Beach lodging but when you wanted to escape the sun you no longer had a view or breeze. My only advice would be to fly over to the island from San Juan rather than deal with the ferry over. I have always been afraid of small planes but I watched youtube videos ahead of time to prepare and the views are absolutely amazing. The ferry back is easier in terms of tickets and timing but I think we will fly back the next time too in order to avoid the expense of San Juan and to maximize our time in Culebra. We definitely hope to stay here again! I think this has to be the very best location on the island and allows for an amazing relaxing vacation!
