Very nice for long term stay

5 of 5
For a month long stay in this price range Mariber is, by far, the best we have stayed in. It is spacious, exceptionally well screened, clean, has an unusually well equipped kitchen, is comfortable and is in a convenient location. We like to walk so we walked to "town", to Flamenco, to Tamarindo. Alternatively, one could catch a publico to Flamenco by standing outside the airport gate, just across the street. As the airport IS just across the street, expect to hear every arrival and departure as well as the sounds of traffic. However, by early evening it is usually quiet (with the exception of Christmas week and the week leading up to it). One of the pleasant sounds at that time of year is of the horses passing as Three Kings Day approaches. To go further afield, e.g., Zoni Beach and to explore the island, a vehicle or golf cart is needed. We found the ceiling fans adequate for comfort; we did not need to use the air conditioners which are in both bedrooms and the kitchen. We enjoyed eating our meals on the screened in verandah but could have chosen to eat inside. The lighting on the verandah, and in the living room, was comfortable to read by at night, another "plus" for Mariber. We appreciated the use of the very good washer and dryer under the agreed upon terms. The owner was most accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. We certainly recommend Mariber with the proviso that you will be aware of numerous flights (small planes.)

A pleasant place to stay in Culebra

4 of 5
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Caleta Tortuga, would stay there again, and would recommend it to friends and family looking for a nice, low-key, clean and comfortable rental. Luxurious it isn't, but the bathrooms are nicely appointed, the towels and linens were new and of good quality, and beach gear (snorkels, beach chairs) are kindly provided. The owners and property manager are very nice and responded promptly to our questions and concerns. Restaurants: aside from Zaco's Tacos and one of the Flamenco kiosks--the one at the back, Dona Mari's--we didn't care much for the dining (we found it overpriced for what it was). You are better off, if so inclined, stocking up on groceries and making your own meals, using the gas grill provided at the house. Attractions: we never got tired of beautiful Flamenco Beach, but also enjoyed Tamarindo, Zoni, and snorkeling at Carlos Rosario.

All the 5 star reviews before me were on the money.

5 of 5
Everything here was as advertised - a spectacular view, refreshing breezes, and a clean well-decorated and furnished house perfect for our group of 4. We cooked for ourselves, and the washer, dryer, AC's, and dishwasher were a luxury (we roughed it a little more on our last trip to Culebra). The owners have quarters with a separate entry upstairs but they were barely there, and I enjoyed talking to them when we ran into each other -- Evan is a talented artist and he and Stephanie seem like the type of people I'd be happy to sit down and have a beer with. They were attentive to detail every step of the way (from booking to checkout), but completely non-intrusive. I'm looking forward to renting from them again!
