Great location and great family rental!

5 of 5
We traveled to San Juan as a family (6 adults and 2 kids) and loved staying at Victor's condo. Victor is a great host. He was very prompt to answer any questions prior to and during our stay. He also stopped by to make sure we were doing well and enjoying our stay. Check-in and check-out were easy and Victor allowed us to check in a bit earlier, since our flight got in early. The place was clean and equipped with clean towels, linens, and kitchen ware (which was handy as we cooked a few meals). The air conditioning in each room was a life-saver given the hot and humid weather. You really can't beat the location and we felt safe. It's a 2-minute walk to the Condado Beach and if you want "calmer" waters you can take a short bus ride (on 53) to Ocean Park Beach. It's a 10-15 minute bus ride (21 or 53, 75 cents each way) to Old San Juan, which is a must for exploring if you are in SJ. There is a Walgreens a block away, a Walmart and grocery store (Supermax) within 15 mins walk, and a ton of restaurants (our favorites were Pinky's for breakfast and La Ropa Vieja for lunch/dinner). In other words, you really don't need to rent a car for the entire stay. However, if you want to explore El Yunque National Forest and Luquillo Beach (which I highly recommend), there is a car rental place a few blocks away from the condo. I highly recommend this condo and would definitely come back again! Thank you, Victor, for your hospitality.

Just what we were looking for!

5 of 5
First, let me add to the other reviewers and say how very easy Sara was to work with. If she could make it happen, she would. We changed our dates a few times and she didn't seem to mind, she just hoped that our vacation was a good one. The apartment itself had everything to make us comfortable - the sofas and bed were super comfy, the kitchen was well stocked (tiny, but we were able to put together meals in it) and, of course having the washer & dryer in the apartment was wonderful. We have stayed in many rental apartments, so are not surprised at the size & found it more roomy than expected. For us it was ideal - just two adults, though I could see we had room if anyone wanted to join us. Then there's the area. We have stayed in several condos a bit east on Ashford Avenue, but wanted something in a quieter sector. I can't say it was noise-free, but for Condado it was fine. After all, we wanted to be close to everything, so couldn't expect to have complete silence. It was just as easy to walk to SuperMax and Super Walmart, as well as our favorite casinos, restaurants (Orozco's & Mike's are our faves), even museums. In fact, we love the beach at Ventana al Mar & this was the closest we've stayed so far - we could hear the monthly jazz festival at the right volume for us! Another thing about this particular condo is the proximity to the ocean - again, going east on Ashford the distance to the ocean gets wider - here, we were able to have a great vista of ocean & hear the waves, a pleasant addition! How much did we like it? We'll be going back next February for another month!
