Our three stays at Canary Castle in 2011 and 2013 were the most tranquil and restful six weeks of our lives. We've rented many places in the U.S. and abroad, and none can match the comfort, cleanliness, and privacy of Wanda and Nelson's place or its spectacular ocean view. During our first visit we did some sightseeing, including memorable day trips to the Arecibo Observatory and for lunch at El Fogon de Abuela on Lago Dos Bocas, but during our last two stays we spent much of our time in the two hammocks on the deck, reading and gazing at the Atlantic, with occasional forays to roadside stands or the Walgreens and the Pueblo grocery on route 10 for supplies or to Salitre, a few miles down the beach and with the same killer view, for a leisurely and delicious late lunch. Everyone we met in Arecibo, in the neighborhood and in restaurants and stores, was warm and friendly and anxious to make sure we were enjoying our stay in their town and on their island. And Wanda and Nelson are two of the kindest and most generous people we've ever met.
