DELIGHTFUL, RELAXING, QUIET VACATION!

5 of 5
A charming two bedroom cottage with an incredible view of the ocean. Very private and peaceful. Lovely private rocky/sandy beach. The stairs down to the beach are not for the faint of heart, but it's well worth the climb down and up every day to collect sea glass and shells and just sit by the ocean and bask in the sun. There are also two chairs by the top of the stairs from which to watch the cruise ships and ferry boats go by and they are great for sitting in and reading a good book. Everything in the cottage was charming and clean and well thought out. There's a full refrigerator and stove/oven, microwave and coffee maker. And Iris brought us a dozen fresh eggs! It was great to be able to relax in the morning and fix a little breakfast before starting the day. Everything on the island (except for the far western section) is an easy drive from the cottage. We made several trips to Charlottetown, Rustico/Cavendish beaches, the singing sands and many lighthouses. Most trips were less than half a day drive there and back. The best place for fish and chips on the island is just 10 minutes away - Brehaut's. When we weren't out playing tourist, we spent time in the lovely dining room/living room looking out at the ocean, playing cards, watching some movies on our DVD player. There is no TV in the cottage, but we found that made the stay even more relaxing. No TV, no news or outside world to intrude. We brought our DVD player and some movies we hadn't yet had a chance to watch. There's also a small grocery store on the way to Brehaut's that rents movies. We came in September and there were a couple of cold nights, but the heating in the cottage works great. During the warm days, we just opened up the windows in the dining and living rooms and there was a lovely cross breeze. We loved our vacation and returned home relaxed and refreshed. We are already planning a return in the spring/summer so we can see everything in bloom!

WONDERFUL FAMILY VACATION

5 of 5
This is a wonderful property. The pictures and description are as advertised. It is beautifully kept, inside and out. The house is extremely clean and well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need, the bedrooms are beautiful with handmade quilts on each bed and wonderful antiques. The living room is very comfortable with TV and satellite. There are books and movies (we didn't find the DVD player. There is a canoe, life jackets, toys, bikes & helmets. So much to do!! We were thrilled to find a property that would allow our dog to travel with us, she had so much fun running around the large property. We enjoyed several bonfires overlooking the water. We spent so much time walking on the beach and digging for clams. The owner Mary lives close by and is available if you need anything or have any questions. I would defiantly recommend this property to anyone!

FABULOUS HOUSE IN A STUNNING LOCATION

5 of 5
We booked this beach house because the photos looked great, but even they don't do it justice. There was just the 2 of us so we had loads of room, but a family could comfortably fit in. There's even a full size basement to send the kids to play table tennis/games if they can't be outside. This place has everything you could wish for and more, and it is all wonderfully clean and perfectly well maintained. I think it was built in 1999 but you'd never guess - it seems almost brand new. It is very well equipped in every respect. Enough about the house: the view is to die for and there are large full-wall windows to take it all in if you can't sit outside. If the weather (and mosquitos) allow, there is a large deck with chairs/loungers and the house sits in its own plot so there's room to spread. There's a boat if you fancy going on the water (but watch the currents) and it's a pleasant walk along the beach. We sat there watching the bald eagles and herons and listening to the moaning of the seals on the bank opposite. Marvellous! Highly recommended.
