Great Memories

5 of 5
My son and I spent the majority of the summer here and had an amazing time, it felt like we were leaving home at the end of August. One of the best things was hearing the whales spout and being able to rush out to the deck to watch them swim. We loved the lack of mosquitos and the fresh breeze. The ladder/stairs to the beach give you a work out and was not suitable for the dog to go down (but he doesn't like being wet anyway so he was fine sitting at the top of the cliff watching us) but being up so high allowed us to watch all kinds of boats and sea life and ocean currents which we loved. The private beach was small and rocky but was great for exploring. I even came nose to nose with a seal! We brought our kayaks which made it fun to explore other private beaches and meet new friends and collect more sea glass then we know what to possibly do with!! We had some power outages due to the crazy weather but Iris was amazing and quick to get it fixed. The horses were a nice addition to the relaxation and amazing summer. I could keep going about the great things we did but there just isn't enough time or space!!

A slice of heaven on earth!

5 of 5
My husband and I have stayed at Port Wood Cove II five times. We've stayed in this home in all seasons, in all weather...in the heat of the summer and during a snowstorm in the winter. The house is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach, the seals, the view and the solitude of PEI. The owners are wonderful, helpful folks, kind and hardworking. They are nearby and are always smiling and eager to answer questions or give directions or address issues (which are few and easily remedied). The house is described accurately and the pictures do not do it justice. It is immaculate, comfortable and welcoming. We enjoy the south east side of the island the most but travel to the north shore to see the different tides. East Point is a favorite place to visit, as is Charlottetown. We have our Tip to Tip Certificate (traveling from East Point to North Cape), but when we traveled to the north west side of the island we did stay overnight in Northport. Mostly we enjoy staying right here at the house and walking the beach. We are not "Anne" fans and come to the island for the island's sake. It is a precious and beautiful location and I highly recommend this home.

Cute cottage & amazing beach

The house is privately situated with trees & fence on the road side, garage to the rear with bikes & toys, large front yard facing the beach, and another cabin to the opposite side. As shown in the photo, there are trees blocking some of the beach view but providing privacy as well. The house was completely stocked with anything & everything we needed from spices to a million towels, to "soft" toilet paper, etc. We couldn't have asked for a more "move in & relax" kind of house. We loved the goodie basket and even visited the winery which is so close. We had some rainy weather so the screen porch was nice. The mosquitos were bad due to the rain and trees so bug spray was a must. The beach is lovely & the low tides are really low allowing the kids to explore all of the pools & sandbars without us being right there (more sitting & relaxing for moms & dads of young kids). The seals were an added bonus to the allure of the beach. We could see the lighthouse & Wood Island Ferry from our beach. A Canadian park is practically next door so the kids could play on the playground & we could run the park. The house was so close to the beach, I could let my baby nap in the house while I was on the beach & yet easily check on her often. Crabby's seafood at the ferry had excellent seafood to cook at home. The restaurant in Murrey Harbor (in the house-can't remember name) was delicious & the train station restaurant was decent too. Peppers Pizza in Monteque was delicious. Ricks up in St Peters had the best fish & chips I've had on the island. Overall the house was conveniently located to explore the quieter areas of the island, was fully stocked & decorated so cute, great yard and toys for kids, easy access to beach (right in front of us), etc. I would definitely recommend and would love to return some day.
