We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seashore Cottage. We were so impressed with how clean it was and that it really was exactly like the pictures that were on the internet. We were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the cottage was for cooking, playing games and entertaining. They even have a craft trunk full of assorted supplies.
The furniture was comfortable and provided a great place to sit, read a book and enjoy the fire in the fireplace.
The outside areas allowed us plenty of time in the fresh air to eat, talk and enjoy the ocean view. We blew bubbles like kids and flew kites on the front yard; the up draft from the water made it the perfect spot to do this with very little effort on our part. The ramp to the ocean is very safe and allowed our parents to access the shoreline for many beach walks regardless of whether it was high or low tide. (My Dad is 92 and my Mom 84). Beach combing is a passion in our family and we walked the beach many times a day finding great treasures such as sea glass, “pink” sand dollars, buoys and shells.
The people in the area during our drives were very friendly. There was a lot to do and much to see from little fishing marinas, farming, golfing and many different artisans who showed us their work. We were impressed with the MacAuslands wool mill just a short drive away, where we got to see how they processed the wool from beginning to end the old way. On Wednesday evening we drove to the corner of O’Leary Road and Western Road (Hwy 2) to enjoy some Island music at St. Luke’s Kitchen Party. It was great.
We had a wonderful experience and will be planning for another visit and stay at the cottage in the future
