We spent 2 weeks at Fare Hamara during the "rainy season" but lucked out with fantastic weather (one full rain day and a few sprinkles the rest of our stay). The house is spacious and the views are lovely.
Jacques is the best part. He is so very helpful, he picked us up at the ferry terminal and took us grocery shopping! We shared some drinks on the deck to say thanks!
We walked to the beautiful, pristine beach almost everyday (we rented a car for the 2nd week of our stay only- go Avis)
The bathroom is huge and there are plenty of towel racks to dry swimsuits. Great showers!
Yes, there are geckos inside and out but they are after mozzies so we welcomed them! We finally figured out we needed repellent when we were outside in the mornings and evenings. The itch didn't last long like the ones in the Midwest. We also saw a few wasps and plantation bugs, but it is the tropics!
My friend and I hate air conditioning and loved the ceiling and portable fans. We were never too hot. Yes, the driveway is steep and a bit bumpy but go slow and steady and even the weakest rental car will make it up.
There are NO neighbors, other than Jacques and you will not hear him. The roosters weren't as bad as I've experienced in Central America but I still brought earplugs.
We loved Les Tipaniers for paddleboarding, Chez Fifi for crepes, Eva Perles for bling and Moorea Yacht Club for excellent food & drink!
I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Jacques, Mary and Bob.
