HARD TO BEAT!

5 of 5
We spent 2 weeks at Fare Hamara during the "rainy season" but lucked out with fantastic weather (one full rain day and a few sprinkles the rest of our stay). The house is spacious and the views are lovely. Jacques is the best part. He is so very helpful, he picked us up at the ferry terminal and took us grocery shopping! We shared some drinks on the deck to say thanks! We walked to the beautiful, pristine beach almost everyday (we rented a car for the 2nd week of our stay only- go Avis) The bathroom is huge and there are plenty of towel racks to dry swimsuits. Great showers! Yes, there are geckos inside and out but they are after mozzies so we welcomed them! We finally figured out we needed repellent when we were outside in the mornings and evenings. The itch didn't last long like the ones in the Midwest. We also saw a few wasps and plantation bugs, but it is the tropics! My friend and I hate air conditioning and loved the ceiling and portable fans. We were never too hot. Yes, the driveway is steep and a bit bumpy but go slow and steady and even the weakest rental car will make it up. There are NO neighbors, other than Jacques and you will not hear him. The roosters weren't as bad as I've experienced in Central America but I still brought earplugs. We loved Les Tipaniers for paddleboarding, Chez Fifi for crepes, Eva Perles for bling and Moorea Yacht Club for excellent food & drink! I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Jacques, Mary and Bob.

BEST VACATION EVER!!!

5 of 5
As you read the reviews below, they all say the same thing; best vacation ever in the best house on the island. We completely agree with those other comments. We loved our9-day stay. 7 of us shared this best house on the island. Tiare greeted us when we arrived and took care of us throughout our stay. The time to return our cars and catch the ferry didn't work out for us so Tiare made a call to a friend at Avis and everything worked out great. Everyone on the island loves Tiare and you will too. The house was cleaned beautifully for us and our blood pressures went from 140/100 to 30/10 (kidding about the 30/10). We fed and petted wild stingrays, sitting in the water just 10 feet from our beautiful shore. We canoed and snorkeled everywhere, everyday. The villa has it's own canoe's for you. We had a "marriage renewal of vows" service on the shoreline at sunset. It was great. We went scuba diving with TopDive swimming with sharks but enjoyed coming home to our villa. Ok, there were a few chickens in everyone's yards but they added to the ambiance of being in Moorea. There are cattle that cross the road in front of you while you're driving too. Oh, there are millions of potholes in the only 2 lane road around the island. Just get use to it. Chase the chickens away and they'll be gone for a couple of days. Make sure to rent a car at Avis. It's expensive but you have to do it to see the island. The Milky Way is so clear at nights. It's unbelievable. It's ok to drink the water. Get lots of XPF (Francs) before you arrive at the villa. The taxi's and vans at the Tahiti airport only work for cash. 3500 XPF's from the airport to the ferry for the use of a van. Almost all of the food stores on the island deal with cash only. Remember, most stores are closed between 12:00-2:00pm. The 3 banks are about 30-40 minutes away from the villa and the banks are practically next door to each other. Ok, you're on vacation so the food at the restaurants is higher. But, load up at the Champion market, close to the Ferry dock where the beef is cheaper. The local restaurants don't look like much from the outside but their food is great. The Mayflower was very snooty to us. I'm boycotting "The Mayflower" and telling all of my friends. We will definitely return to this wonderful place. Enjoy your stay. Thank you Tiare for a wonderful vacation. Michael Olesiuk

BEYOND PARADISE!!!!!

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed at Marlon’s at the end of May, from the very beginning when we found this on VRBO and contacted Richard with questions, He was very quick to respond, gave all sorts of information and advice. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Tiare, (Nir was out of town that day) who gave us the key to the Bungalow, car, & phone to call if we had any questions, or needed any assistance with activities or restaurant ideas. The bungalow is as exactly as described on the webpage. Beautiful views of the lagoon, you are right in a perfect view to catch a sunset (It was cloudy most of the evenings, however we did get to see 2 beautiful sunsets) Sunrises were a different story, clouds in the morning prevented catching a picturesque shot. We highly recommend renting the car for the entire time that you are there, this allowed us to go hiking up in the mountains, see the public beach, shopping, etc at our leisure and schedule. We snorkeled every day off of the bungalow; we purchased a Go Pro camera so we could film our snorkeling and diving experiences. Recommended activities: Moana Adventure Tours – 7 hr Private Romantic Tour Boat Ride, it was worth the money, picked us up at our dock and we got to see the entire island, we stopped and snorkeled and three different locations, got to swim with the rays and sharks. Then had a nice dinner on a private motu ,our guide Arii was funny, knowledgeable and an excellent cook. Topdive – if you are diver or want to learn, we had a great time with this company, they were very safety conscious, the dive masters that we had were very good, showed us different fish, eels, sharks, etc.. They also allowed us to maximize our dive time. Hiking on the island – there is trail just down the road from the bungalow. It takes you to to one of the mountains, it can be a strenuous hike at times but the view is awesome. I believe the 4X4 tours will take you there too; we just loved hiking with no timetables. Summary – Staying at Marlon’s provided us so much more to do, we met a couple who stayed at one of the resorts on the Motu’s and they did not see ¼ of what we did, plus they paid more for their OTW Bungalow. If you choose to stay here, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Thank you Richard, Nir & Tiare for a unforgettable time in Bora Bora!!!!! Warren & Tammy
