                    A slice of paradise!

                    5 of 5
After travelling through Australia and New Zealand for seven weeks we had booked 'seaspray' beach villa in Rarotonga to relax and soak up the sun. We flew from Aukland landing in Rarotonga at about midnight there time. Dorothea had arranged a transfer for us to take us to the villa and let us in. Having arrived at about 1am in the morning our first instinct was to fall into bed, however the villa was so lovely that we had a cuppa and surveyed the facilities and the location ( by moonlight). Everything was as described on the website and we loved it! We attempted catching a bus to the local market the next morning and eventually managed to get one after 40mins standing in the baking sunshine. not the most reliable mode of transport (one bus clockwise, one bus anticlockwise around the whole island). We therefore decided to book a car in town for the 8 day stay which was very reasonable and worked out well for shopping and carrying all the beach and snorkelling gear around to the various beaches on the island. The local team looking after the property were friendly, helpful and kept the property in good order. The washing machine had broken down just before our arrival and was fixed by the Tuesday ( flying in the spare part needed from New Zealand). Dealings with the owner Dorothea were very professional from first enquiry to return of deposit. The property was so lovely that we had breakfast and evening meal on the sun terrace most days. The facilities for cooking were excellent and having the dishwasher meant washing up was not a chore. The island is a beautiful peaceful jewel in the pacific ocean, very green with lush palm trees and vegetation covering the steep mountain interior and sandy beaches with warm shallow lagoons around most of the island's perimeter. If you enjoy beaches, swimming, snorkelling or just lazing on the sun terrace with a book this is the place for you. The more energetic have the option of trekking in the mountains and cycling around the island, note at this time of year it is very hot and humid. We had a super relaxing , very enjoyable stay in this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a slice of paradise. John (Solihull England)

                    Absolute Perfection.

                    5 of 5
If you're like me and have to travel half way around the world to get to a vacation spot, you want it to be all that one would wish. You'd want a beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, friendly people and the feel of peace and tranquility. There, that's briefly what Sokala Villas has to offer. Muri beach is the most beautiful area on the most beautiful island in the world. (Biased opinion!) Sokala is located on the most perfect section of this beautiful beach. One gets so used to having the whole area to one's self that to see anyone else stroll by seems like an intrusion in you're own personal paradise. Lawrance, Susan, Sarina and the entire staff are our Cook Islands family now. We miss them when we're away and can't wait to return. The villas are cozy and rustic. The staff bend over backwards to ensure that your comfort and enjoyment is their number one priority. Every year that we've been back we find that there seems to be more to do, more places to dine and more facilities to enjoy. Evenings with a brandy and a cigar on the spacious deck overlooking the lagoon, watching the moon rise over the motu and a light tropical breeze over the water.... Damn! In the meantime, in the real world, I must go shovel the snow so I can get my car out on to the street.
