Originally, we were going to stay at the Four Seasons for 4 nights, but we decided to try to save some money and stay at a rental for the majority of the nights on Bora Bora. We ended up staying 1 night in an over water bungalow at Four Seasons for our last night in Bora Bora, but we would have been bored staying longer than 2 nights there, so we are so glad we stayed at Ed's bungalow longer. Although it was not the most conventiently located home on Bora Bora, almost any location on Bora Bora is beautiful. Since the home is located on the main island, it was fairly easy to get to and we used their car for much less than the cost that a rental car would cost. We really enjoyed having a full house with kitchen, washer/dryer, and other amenities during our stay on Bora Bora especially since we were traveling with our almost 1 year old baby. Also, the house was remodeled recently and it is beautiful.
We ended up buying groceries at Chin Lee and Super U and eating all of our meals at the bungalow, which ended up saving us a lot of money. The fish and bread were fresh and the French wine was good and fairly inexpensive. The fruit and vegetables were not so good, but we ended up buying some frozen vegetables which were fairly good. It was so nice to check-in and find the refrigerator stocked with some drinking water, pack of beer, and a bottle of white wine.
I really enjoyed snorkeling in the lagoon around the bungalow. I found some great spots pretty close. Try the coast on either side of the nearby bay. There are a lot of close-by coral formations with fish, of course. Also, I enjoyed trying out stand up paddle boarding for the first time. I ended up paddling across the lagoon to one of the motus. It's not that far at all.
If we head back to Bora Bora, we will definitely want to stay at Ed's bungalow!
